January 7, 20232 yr knew anetra was gonna killllll. jax and marcia were great too but both feel like they’re not gonna go far. surprisingly really loved sugar and spice too lol. shocked that irene went home ! amethyst screamed first out, but she did win the lipsync.
January 7, 20232 yr I literally agreed with every decision - gag? My favourite queen won, the top 3 were correct, the bottom 3 were correct. Irene gave much better TV than Amethyst so I was sure she was staying but… Amethyst won the lip sync so CORRECT DECISION. Long may this continue into the rest of the series (it won’t but it’d be nice)!
January 7, 20232 yr How is everyone watching this? Why take it off netflix? It losing an audience and viewers. Sodding mtv can do one. I'll never pay for sky or wow presents. I ain't made of money.
January 7, 20232 yr I enjoyed both episodes. 16 queens is mad though, I didn’t even know where to look. Most of them are coming across well which is nice. Not a fan of Mistress and all her shade. Also think Salina could be one of my least favourite queens ever if this persona continues. She is very aware that she is on TV. Giving me Silky / Brita storyline vibes. Also, Poppy is stunning!
January 8, 20232 yr Such an amazing premiere and talent show! There was so much variety. Dare I say one of the best talent shows on drag race? Especially considering there were 16 queens! And everything judgement-wise I agreed with and was SO HAPPY that Anetra won! Was shocked to see Irene leave though, but Amethyst did beat her in the lip sync. I quite like how Mistress was shady to the twins at first and warmed up so much to them as the episode went on. :lol: I feel like she's a big softy and talks tough (similar to the likes of Bianca Del Rio in that aspect). Lots of queens I'm really liking. My favourites so far would be Anetra, Sasha, Marcia and Spice. With so many queens I hope they dont have too many non-elmination episodes. It would be nice to have a "normal" season this year with consistent/proper eliminations.
January 8, 20232 yr Mistress is giving me HUGE Bianca vibes, like she has that motherly tough love energy. You can tell she has a huge heart underneath and the shade is out of love and kind of inducting people into the “real” drag environment, she’s such a bastion of classic drag and I love that. Her and Sasha are the ones to watch for me, also adore Anetra so far and whilst I wasn’t keen on Marcia I did absolutely love her talent show, so stupid but hysterical :lol: The twins are really annoying but there’s definitely something there with Spice, she has that spark where I think she’s going to be great whereas I’m not sure Sugar does although you can tell she thinks she’s the “main” or “better” twin.
January 8, 20232 yr Author Funnily enough I came in expecting to like the twins more but they've only annoyed me so far. They're always 'on'/in character so far which isn't how they are on social media. Weird flex
January 8, 20232 yr :hi: finally jumped into the world of Drag Race with these first two episodes (wanted to start the year off positively as an Ariana mod :kink:) and I'll aim to continue with the rest of this series as I did find myself getting pretty invested. I didn't have a lot to go off as a newbie, but I got positive vibes from Jax quite early on so I was happy that her talent show performance went well with the skipping rope plaits *.* Anetra was amazing too - a deserved winner and Marcia's was delightfully standout, so pretty popular opinions so far it seems. Edit: oh Sasha Colby's one was captivating also! Mistress definitely grew on me a lot as the episodes progressed.
January 8, 20232 yr Omfg What a great two parter. Love this cast already. Bit gutted about who went first as love their drag aesthitic but you know it is what it is. My top 5 fave talent shows 1. Anetra 2. Princess Poppy 3. Marcia Marcia Marcia 4. Jax 5. Spice Ariana was fantastic as great judge like she was on s7 too.

January 8, 20232 yr A good set of queens and I liked the way they were brought together to make one whole group I was shocked at the elimination as I’d immediately put them as a front runner. But god was that ‘talent’ a complete miss-step Intrigued to see how future weeks go!
January 9, 20232 yr Leiomy of course had to weigh in and gatekeep. Voguing has become huge so of course people will always go and 'steal' that for themselves and make it into something new. That's literally how everything in this world works, you can't have the same culture forever, it will change sooner or later according to people's interests and needs at the time. Yeah, it might not have been the (technically) best duck walk but it's not making fun of voguing in any way, is it? The intention is always ignored when people clap back about something said or done. @1612447865837846528
