This is why I love reading the music section on Buzzjack forums. So much nostalgia. Keep them coming.

May I ask how you came up with your username?

It was the first name I thought of. 😆

I saw X Factor mentioned earlier which reminded me of this follow up to Leon's coronation single.

I suppose at least Leon can console himself with the fact his follow-up charted better than Eoghan Quigg's debut 28,000 Friends... which got to #96!

Not enough friends to get him higher!

This seems quite forgotten to me! -

#3 hit in February 2000. Ended up at 153rd in the 2000 EOY with 102,000 sales. With less than 140,000 Spotify streams and 104,000 views on YouTube, I won't be holding my breath for this single to ever go Silver!

This was Fierce's fourth single, following peaks of #25, #11 and #15 with their first three singles in 1999. So this single was a bit of breakthrough moment for them by reaching #3, but... it ended up being their final single!

I definitely remember the Mason track (and still to this day love it as the original instrumental) - the Spooks and Fatboy Slim singles from earlier in the thread I could immediately sing as well.

A selection that I forgot about.

Sweet Love 2K is a good example of a forgotten top three, or at least one you never hear anymore, although back in the day commercial radio played it a lot. Seems such a random top three hit looking back. My mum bought their album, probably one of the few people that did!

'Sweet Love 2K' really did feel quite big at the time, but yeah I haven't heard that anywhere in at least 15 years.

What was the story behind them never releasing anything again after getting by far their biggest hit?

Talking of classical stars, here's Aled Jones with Terry Wogan as BandAged on Little Drumer Boy, No.3 in 2008:

I think I actually knew this version before the original and didn't know it was a cover at first.

I would hope that Mason/Princess Superstar isn't too forgotten - though admittedly I don't think I've heard it for a while. Remember it being played to death at the time though!

A couple of duets that I don't really hear anyone talk about anymore:

Duncan James & Keedie - I Believe My Heart (2004) [Peaked at #2]

> I have a big soft spot for this! It's really lovely! <

---

LeAnn Rimes & Ronan Keating - Last Thing On My Mind (2004) [Peaked at #5]

> Such a catchy, MOR bop! <

---

Delta Goodrem & Brian McFadden - Almost Here (2005) [Peaked at #3]

> I'm sure the Delta fans amongst us haven't forgot about this, but I think in the wider scheme of things this is forgotten about. It's really nice. <

---

Meat Loaf & Marion Raven - It's All Coming Back To Me Now (2006) [Peaked at #6]

> Yes, the song is one of the most popular songs around, but this specific version of this song is forgotten about and that sucks tbh coz Marion's ad-libs are GORGEOUS! They actually impacted me so much that I do them to Celine's version too lol. <

---

Russell Watson & Faye Tozer - Someone Like You (2002) [Peaked at #10]

> I actually don't remember this song, but I just remember Faye (the best member of STEPS x) having a top 10 hit lol. <

Melanie C - Next Best Superstar

Liz McClarnon - Woman In Love

The Corrs - Summer Sunshine

Liz McClarnon - Woman In Love

The Corrs - Summer Sunshine

One of my fave Mel C songs and that's my favourite The Corrs song

Not really a fan of that Liz song though :(

2/3 ain’t bad!

I wanted to post Lee Ryan’s When I Think Of You but I don’t even think that hit the top 40. Shame, as it’s better than the first two singles anyway! Unfortunately, he’s a bit of a dick.
