March 13, 20232 yr Performing in 26th place at the final then it seems! Not sure about how I feel about us performing in last place - not sure it’s the best position as people can lose interest by that point, but what a banger to finish with View this post on Instagram Edited March 13, 20232 yr by ___∆___
March 13, 20232 yr Wow, poor Molly went last in 2014. Better than being up 2nd or in the first half but a few earlier would have been preferable. A long wait for her to perform after her 25 support acts have been on *.* It helps that the song is super catchy so will still be in people's heads when televoting opens. March 13, 20232 yr i think she has a good song that sounds perfect for eurovision, and if she pairs it with a stunner performance she could make the perfect finale! I have hope that itll do well, its a good enough song but if were last it needs to be a showstopper performance!
March 13, 20232 yr Yeah, I'd have preferred the 19th position that Ukraine have drawn, but better than being first half. The songs performing last had a decent run during the 2015-2018 years and Estonia managed a televote top 10 last year which I would happily take.
March 13, 20232 yr We need 2 or 3 middling MOR/Ballads before us. I've been seeing a few "My Favourite 2023 Eurovision Songs" countdowns on Tik Tok where this is top 10, but it's sandwiched between a couple of tracks that don't sound TOO dissimilar to it (icr what those songs were off the top of my head - I haven't listened to everything yet and I am waiting for them all to become available :arrr:) so if any of those tracks are before it then they'll all clash with each other. I'm actually going to say we could finish top 10 tbh. But I still think we'll be 11th-15th fave for a lot of countries, which *could* drag us down. I still feel quite "it's a decent, generic bop - but doesn't really hit much for me" about it. But I'm definitely more hopeful now of a top 10 than I was when it premiered.
March 13, 20232 yr They shoulda chosen Ellie and Calvin! Imagine Miracles as the closing number, a trance bop, strobe lights going off! WOW WHAT A MOMENT!! Yup. Sam could easily have won the televote, but he was RIGHT BEFORE the Polish rip off of his song, with the singer PURPOSEFULLY stealing Sam's singing style and tryna hit the same high notes, randomly!!!, in order to compete with him. If this beige bop has OTHER beige bops ahead of it, see Poland's, then it really will be a nil pointer.
March 13, 20232 yr I think they sold out so quickly they just added a new amount but didn’t update the description. Also, a nice reminder from the OCC of how far we’ve come from some of these horrors View this post on Instagram christ I had suppressed memories of how bad these were.
March 13, 20232 yr Going on last is a high risk place, especially if you don't stand out from the rest of the pack *cough*childrenoftheuniverse*cough* but potentially high reward if they nail the staging. With a memorable concept then the potential is definitely there for this to do better than I'd first given it credit for on the televote at least.

March 13, 20232 yr Well. That’s off to a flying start for the UK! I guess it’s a good statement about how we finally sent something that is representative of what *we actually listen to* as a country

With a memorable concept then the potential is definitely there for this to do better than I'd first given it credit for on the televote at least. I’ve always felt that Children of the Universe was woefully underproduced in parts - the verses are great and then the chorus percussion sounds like a demo, I wish they’d beefed it up. Also poor Molly was sadly swallowed by the stage and occasion. Mae is a big personality and confident performer with a big stage presence so I could see us doing ok on the televote. They need to go big with it as the last performance, try and create a moment. Make a mess at the end of the performance! Glitter or confetti. Why not, if nobody else is coming on directly after there’s more time to clear up. Edited March 13, 20232 yr by gooddelta
March 13, 20232 yr This entry just SO 'Eurovision' sounding to me especially the chorus, unlike last years Space Man which didn't sound very 'Eurovision' at all to me! Maybe I just associate Eurovision with female dance-pop though!
March 13, 20232 yr Uff!! Ernest Humpledink might be thr worst one ever actually. Electro Velvet was SO CLOSE to being a winning track!! It needed more competent performers, as the man looked like he was doin community service; and with the state of UK Eurovision at the time, he may as well have been. It also needed a bit more punch in thr production, and that woulda been it - winner!
March 13, 20232 yr Fully expecting the one before to overshadow Mae now eek. Hope she manages to deliver somehow though despite her draw .
March 13, 20232 yr Fully expecting the one before to overshadow Mae now eek. Hope she manages to deliver somehow though despite her draw . We need a few of the dodgy ballads before and then Mae to finish with a dance banger - knowing our luck Loreen will be 25th
