Like Bré I wouldn't have expected such an impressive result for 'Out Of Space' before this started so very pleased with that! Hooray for Moby achieving a top 10 placing too

En Vogue beating The Prodigy to the top 5 by 2 points.

At least the top 4 are all pretty great now. Rooting for P!nk or Daft Punk ~

The first time I heard the song was Little Mix's cover on X Factor which I did think sounded like a good song... and then I heard the original and was quite shocked at how utterly boring and lifeless it is in comparison. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Are you sure we're talking about the same song?! I mean I get that music taste is subjective and each to their own and all that, but I'm surprised that anyone would call it boring and lifeless? Powerful vocals, the harmonies sound great and the production is outstanding. That intro guitar riff gives me goosebumps every time I hear it!

Anyway, pleased to see it this high and 'Out Of Space' too - that and 'No Good (Start The Dance)' are my two favourite Prodigy songs, although of course they have plenty more belters in their discography!

It's boring, soz x

(ESPECIALLY the production! IIRC that was the main reason I preferred Little Mix's version lol)

((I've given it another listen as I didn't even remember it having a guitar riff in it - it's barely audible (unless that's just YouTube?) and about as basic a riff as I could imagine? Definitely each to their own on that one  I will grant that they have some nice sounding harmonies and a few moments where whey are at least trying to put some energy into the vocals but overall it's still sounding like as much of a slog as I remember))

edit: relistened to the Little Mix version too, the guitar is actually a lot more prominent on that version and sounds a lot better for it, and the whole song definitely sounds much more lively to me, I also really like the parts in the final chorus where the instrumental drops out to focus on the vocal harmonies. It's still nothing amazing, but it's just little things that made the original sound very underwhelming to me compared to their version. Maybe that biases me against it a little bit but I really can't imagine it'd be a song I'd care even the tiniest bit about if I hadn't heard the LM version.

Clearly I'm in a minority anyway :teresa:

The only one from my bottom 10 still left is Around the World, but I don’t know why I was so harsh on it really haha

Oh no! I wanted Daft Punk or Prodigy to win. 😞

Wow, one of my top 5 has won! They were in my top 5 nominations too. I gave Snow Patrol 3 points more, but I'd be equally happy with either winning!

Around The World is a delight, and was so ahead of its time for 1997, it's unreal.

Two Indie ballad classics in the top 2 then! Either would be a great winner, but rooting for my 50 to win the thing, that doesn't happen often!

Around the World is obviously iconic, the video/song combination is irresistable. Who Knew I ranked a little lower than the others in the top 4, but I still really like it, one of her best.

Well I jinxed it again  that's the last 2 of my top 10 out aw. Not too bothered who wins out of the last two, I ranked Green Day slightly higher but like them both about the same amount really.

'Who Knew' was the last of my top 5 standing, pretty easily my favourite P!nk song and one I never tire of hearing  and 'Around The World' ofc an all time banger too.

I ranked Run 8th and BOBD 19th so both top half for me :). Would prefer Run tbh.
Two great songs there especially 'Who Knew' and that's an acceptable result for it if it weren't to win. One of my fave songs of the 00's period.
Bugger. I'd have preferred P!nk or preferably Daft Punk to win out of those that were remaining. I do like the other two, and indeed I used to adore Run when it was released, so they're good enough to win I guess.
