Posted March 20, 20232 yr 2H5uWRjFsGc UK Chart Run: 2-2-2-3-5-3-5-7-6-8-10-12-17-20-31-36-38-45-47-56 (20 weeks) Earning a respectable bronze medal are British rock band Chumbawamba with their iconic 90s anthem. The band's roots actually go all the way back to 1982 but it would be another 11 years before they scored their first minor hits, with 2 top 75 singles from their sixth album Anarchy in 1993. It wouldn't be until 1997 and the release of album #8 Tubthumper that they finally achieved mainstream success. That album's similarly-titled lead single turned into a worldwide smash although never quite topped the UK chart, spending all 3 of its peak weeks behind Men In Black. The song is still widely recognised and mistitled today. Chumawamba would only have 2 further UK hits the following year before losing relevance and slowly fading away until their official break-up in 2012. Another year, another finale. March 20, 20232 yr Author There's No Doubt about what I'm voting for, a true masterpiece. Edited March 20, 20232 yr by Dobbo.
March 20, 20232 yr the correct top 2 Actually not sure what to vote, love them both As an artist overall I'm a bigger fan of Natalie but ended up picking Don't Speak cos Torn is not really her song and is a cover the lyrics in Don't Speak still kill me
March 20, 20232 yr I’m all out of faith with these polls right now - but not torn that Natalie should win
March 20, 20232 yr Natalie to win obvz To be fair to Chumbawamba they were hardly chasing mainstream success for the majority of their career, 'Tubthumping' is not at all representative of most of their output
March 20, 20232 yr I voted for Torn, they finished 16th and 24th in my own 1997 end of year chart so I love both.
March 20, 20232 yr I love both... but Torn edges it for me! A pity it didn't manage to get to #1, but it was held off by Aqua - Barbie Girl for three weeks. Torn has had its revenge via this poll :kink:
March 20, 20232 yr I'm Torn, but after some thinking, there's No Doubt that it should be Natalie (I'll get my coat x)
