Thanks to the 51 people who participated in last week's poll :jump:

Official results from week 11 (now in order of number of votes per the request from last week, also retroactively edited this in the older threads x):

[ 34 ] Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - Miracle (#3)

[ 25 ] Mae Muller - I Wrote A Song (#30)

[ 20 ] Miley Cyrus - River (#16)

[ 12 ] Miley Cyrus - Jaded (#27)

[ 12 ] TV Girl - Lovers Rock (#84)

[ 11 ] Meghan Trainor - Mother (#42)

[ 5 ] Digga D - Energy (#19)

[ 3 ] ArrDee and Cat Burns - Home For My Heart (#35)

[ 2 ] NF - MOTTO (#73)

[ 1 ] D-Block Europe - 1 On 1 (#48)

BuzzJack's favourite top 100 hit for 2023 week 11 and auto-qualifying for the March monthly round is Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - Miracle.

Attracting votes from exactly 2/3 of participants, the highest new entry of the week is also the rather predictable winner. Scottish DJ Calvin Harris teamed up for a third time with English singer Ellie Goulding, after two big top 10 hits before they're hoping that third time is the charm to get a #1 together in the next few weeks with this track heavily leaning on the late 90s/early 00s trance style, it's already the highest peaking of their three collabs (and both artists' highest charting hit of the decade so far).

UK Eurovision entrant Mae Muller did what Sam Ryder couldn't and actually charted in her first full week on release, and finishes 2nd in the poll (24 places higher than she'll finish in Eurovision), 9 votes behind and just short of also getting votes from half of participants. Miley Cyrus can't repeat her poll win that she managed with 'Flowers' but the two new tracks filling her chart quota from 'Endless Summer Vacation' finish 3rd and 4th with 'River' being comfortably the more popular of the two and also cracking 20 votes. 'Jaded' ties with a perhaps surprisingly strong showing for the latest TikTok fuelled minor alternative hit from TV Girl (a couple more of them in this week's poll as trends move fast), and Meghan Trainor's atrocity managed to also cross the double figure mark somehow. All the rap songs unsurprisingly lag behind but Digga D punches slightly above his weight to get as many as 5 votes, while D-Block Europe fail a third time to get a nul pointer, surely they'll get one some time this year but for now one person saved them again and Clavish's 'No Difference' remains the sole song to get no votes in any of these polls to date.

Weekly winners to date:

01 // 12/01/23 // Sub Focus and Dimension - Ready To Fly

02 // 19/01/23 // Skrillex, Fred again.. and Flowdan - Rumble

03 // 26/01/23 // Miley Cyrus - Flowers

04 // 02/02/23 // Fall Out Boy - Love From The Other Side

05 // 09/02/23 // P!nk - TRUSTFALL

06 // 16/02/23 // RAYE - Ice Cream Man.

07 // 23/02/23 // Linkin Park - Lost

08 // 02/03/23 // Lana Del Rey - A&W

09 // 09/03/23 // Gorillaz - Silent Running (feat. Adeleye Omotayo)

10 // 16/03/23 // Zara Larsson - Can't Tame Her

11 // 23/03/23 // Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - Miracle

Qualified for the yearly round:

January // Bizarrap and Shakira - Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 / Miley Cyrus - Flowers / Sub Focus and Dimension - Ready To Fly

February // Freya Ridings - Weekends / Lana Del Rey - A&W / P!nk - TRUSTFALL

Qualified for the playoff for the yearly round:

January // Fall Out Boy - Love From The Other Side

February // Linkin Park - Lost

It's the busiest week to date with 14 new entries to dig into, including several intriguing looking first time chart acts, one of which coming with a Christmas song in March *.* Fred again.. and Melanie Martinez' tracks also top the 5 minute mark so the playlist clocks in at a chunky (by these polls' standards) 48 minutes and 46 seconds.

Vote for as many or as few songs as you want and would be ideal if you can make sure you've heard all the songs before voting if possible!

You have until Saturday evening ish as usual :jump: (or maybe Sunday if I continue to be bad at time management)

wasn't expecting a new Nothing But Thieves single to sound like something from Dawn FM (the main riff is strikingly similar to Sacrifice)

Another solid song from Taylor and JACKIE BROWN is the best solo song I've heard from Brent. They're the only two I'm voting for this week.

The Bakar, Rainbow Kitten Surprise & Nothing But Thieves tracks all sounded good but aren't ones I would necessarily go back to. The Bakar one feels like the first hit since that is of the same kind of vibe as Steve Lacy's one last year.

The Lewis Capaldi and venbee tracks are both much better than their last efforts but still not great.

I'd much rather listen to the Lil Baby original than the Fred Again.. song and as far as BTS hits go, I preferred the J-Hope one from the other week to Jimin's.

There seems to be loads of these nondescript TikTok entries recently and I think the Roar song might be the most boring of the lot!

Tough one this week with lots which are 6 or 7/10 for me. How I'm Feeling Now has grown on me a bit, so I voted for that.

Nothing But Thieves currently leading! :o

Official results from week 11 (now in order of number of votes per the request from last week, also retroactively edited this in the older threads x):

Thanks for doing that!

Taylor Swift - All Of The Girls You Loved Before (#11) - complete and utter bore

Hozier - Eat Your Young (#22) - not at all what I expected this to sound like, sounds like a nick jonas song. decent but passable

Lewis Capaldi - How I'm Feeling Now (#24) - one of his worst singles, dull and lifeless. melody really reminds me of Selena Gomez - back to you

Jimin - Set Me Free Pt.2 (#30) - not bad but a bit TOO much autotune and the title is repeated too many times. also why is there no pt.1?

Bakar - Hell N Back (#41) - very limp. and the guy's voice is awful

Fred again.., Skrillex and Four Tet - Baby again.. (#52) - is this yet another Future sample? pretty boring regardless, monotonal and zero progression to the song

Roar - Christmas Kids (#58) - what's this got to do with christmas then? quite like it though, singer sounds like Alex Trimble

Melanie Martinez - DEATH (#67) - took a while to get going but I enjoy the production on this one

Rainbow Kitten Surprise - It's Called: Freefall (#78) - um... no

RAYE - Flip A Switch. (#83) - really nice vibe to this, much better than ice cream man

Luke Combs - 5 Leaf Clover (#92) - surprisingly much more listenable than his previous appearances on list. +1 for the violin but still never need to hear it again

venbee - gutter (#95) - i can normally overlook the lyrics when the beat is decent but i just can't here, what an embarrassment, jeez you're such a hardass bitch venbee...

Brent Faiyaz - JACKIE BROWN (#96) - the voices blend well together but the song is mid

Nothing But Thieves - Welcome To The DCC (#97) - don't know much by this band but this sounds great! saved the best till last

A big list but mostly SHIT. Voted for Roar, Melanie, RAYE & NBT.

the Fred Again song samples Lil Baby (yes he did have to make a song titled Baby, which in its original form also featured DaBaby)

I went with Hozier, Bakar, Roar, Nothing But Thieves, Melanie Martinez and Luke Combs.

Jimin starts off good but just becomes a mess after the first minute. Totally get why the Taylor track didn’t make the album. Not bad but totally indifferent to it. Flip A Switch is the track I like least from the album so of course that is the track people are clicking with.

Just voted for Nothing But Thieves but a decent top half in my ranking!

Not on my 2023 bingo card: a hit based on the relationship of Phil and Ronnie Spector :P ('Christmas Kids')

Doing my own votes for this shortly and hopefully getting the new poll up as well, but just a little bump as I notice the number of votes in the poll is a little lower than usual, hope we can get at least a couple more this evening B-)
