June 16, 20232 yr Yasssss, this just feels right as a top ten hit. Kylie's biggest sounding hit in a very, very long time for sure. She did what she used to do best back in the day with Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Slow: an earworm of a chorus on top of futuristic production that isn't really being heard elsehwere in the charts yet (the Romanian charts maybe, but not UK).

I’m sure if Popular featured a current artists instead of Madonna it would have been far more successful…

I’m sure if Popular featured a current artists instead of Madonna it would have been far more successful… I disagree that it would be "more" successful without Madonna, more that I don't think its success would change. Madonna's not an integral enough part of the song for it to matter who sings it really, it'd do just the same with anyone else.
