July 10, 20232 yr Bronze impakt *.* iirc I came 3rd in the last PFSC too so doing quite well of late in the genre contests. I see my prediction for the winner came through in the end too so #psychicbra - well done Kath, a very strong winner, wish I could have given it more points than I did but at least it did make it into my votes! And ofc wonderful to see my 20 in 2nd place (I screwed myself out of 2nd place by relistening before voting ddd but no regrets tbh - I think if I had come 2nd it'd be my third time while still awaiting a debut win so I'm kinda happier with 3rd if anything). Cheekface and Otyken both in the top 5 as well is kind of iconic, novelty(ish) entries stay winning apparently x A few more of my big faves in the lower half of the top 10 too, shame Limousine dropped off a bit but still a decent result for them, and great for Mandy, Indiana and The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die! + ooh yay for Converter picking up quite a lot at the end even if not quite enough for top 10. The whole of the 11-15 section is fab too, especially amazed to see Meitei so high, quite a few surprising results here overall! Samaris and This Ascension deserved better, especially the latter, kind of mystified at that being bottom 5 </3 Thanks Cody for the hosting! 1 month of being silent and cryptic is preferable to the 4 months you did last time :teresa:
July 10, 20232 yr Yay, I just came back from my holiday and to find out that I wasn't last is a blessing, thanks to all that voted for my entry and a massive congrats to Kath :cheer:!!!!
July 11, 20232 yr Thank you Cody for presenting the results! Glad to see Kath winning with a banger  It's lovely to see Cheekyface in the top 5. I was very surprised Domination (Lm) was released back in the mid-2000s when it sounded like the experimental or dark techno stuff I come across from time to time. It was a great find! Shame it fell just short of top 10. :( Peach Fuzz is another great find and one I think I would have now given 20 points to. I was totally prepared to see blakey jazz flop so badly here  It was absolute bonkers and I expect it is just too experimental and inaccessible for the Buzzjack crowd but I really like the improvisation and the overall product is one of the most artistic pieces I've ever heard. I think there is no better place than Unknown Pleasures to send these kind of entries and it's great to see it does not finish with 0 points. ^_^
July 11, 20232 yr I thought Geese might have performed a bit better, ah well! Thanks for hosting Cody!
July 11, 20232 yr This was an above-average contest for me! Glad to have voted for the winner which feels unlike me, let alone both of the top 2. Congrats Kath!! Yours was a standout for sure *.* and I can certainly be hyped for a Kath-hosted UP if it happens. A bit of a bummer for Leww after his was leading most of the way, but still a good result for him too ^_^ Happy that two of my top three made the top 20. Arkells is a band I've known for years but don't often listen to and wouldn't necessarily have recognized them, but I absolutely loved the song. And I still can't believe 'Space Commander' did that well! Nothing against my own entry, but my expectations were low so I'll gladly take the top end of the bottom 10. :P I'm in great company with Goth Babe and Polly Money but really disappointed that both weren't a lot higher. (FYI 'Running Around' was the Goth Babe song I almost sent here last year) I think there is no better place than Unknown Pleasures to send these kind of entries and it's great to see it does not finish with 0 points. ^_^I agree with this! Wasn't my fave but entries like those are what's great about UP. Last but not least, thanks Cody for hosting!
July 11, 20232 yr Great that you knew the Arkells, Riser! I think I picked the wrong song however, I was hoping they would do better. Congrats Kath!!!
July 11, 20232 yr I LIT A MATCH 🔥 and burned these bozos to a crisp MMMMMtasteeeee (fr tho that's a surreal result for Cheekface - i just used this as a chance to showcase a fun quirky track one of my new fave bands, i had no idea it'd actually be pulling in the votes ) it's relieving to see the buzzjack voters are into Parannoul, another artist who's been putting out top quality stuff for the last few years cheers cody for hosting :3 next edition of Nuggets shouldn't be too far off we hope
July 11, 20232 yr next edition of Nuggets shouldn't be too far off we hope Just say the word and I’ll be ready. I think we have CB happening next so maybe after that is over.
July 11, 20232 yr CB will be starting very soon (in under a week), I just don't want it to line up completely with BJSC to help us all out a bit. I was all ready to flop, ANKOR are a really cool band with a good harsh vocalist - the first build-up to the drop on 'Oblivion' has me captivated every time - but I wasn't expecting loads of points so thank you to so many for sending me into the top 10, that's a nice success :D Very good winner, well done Kath, one of my top picks beyond my usual bullshit, OTYKEN do their schtick incredibly well, I've yet to hear a song of theirs that I dislike and Cheekface was a really really unique song, great to see that also top 5. I was really surprised to see Ave Mujica in here actually, but great little niche pick from AllStar that I thought was so cool when I came across them, actual anime metal band and they didn't even flop that hard! thank you for hosting Cody ^_^
July 11, 20232 yr Oops, just missing bottom five after the longest drought in history, had quite a good start too  I discovered my entry from DJ Sabrina, who was raving about it on Twitter, it does sound like the kind of thing she’d sample! Thanks for hosting Cody, an enjoyable results show. Congrats Kath and Leww! I didn’t vote for either just looking back but very impressed Seven’s (great) entry made the top five, and Otyken too :cheer:
July 11, 20232 yr Well done Kath! Very happy that my top pointer won *.* Pleased with 11th for Converter as it was languishing down low on the scoreboard for ages. Thank you for all the votes, especially to lewistgreen for top marks  Thanks for hosting, Cody!
July 11, 20232 yr Thank you guys :cheer: :cheer: Super happy James Shinra did so well too and Mandy, Indiana ofc who I thought would win actually
July 11, 20232 yr Congratulations Kath :cheer: winning with an absolute banger! Well done Leww finishing 2nd with my top pointer. Happy with 24th. Thanks Cody for hosting, your entry deserved much better!
July 11, 20232 yr Very happy with 18th considering how badly the song went down during the listen through!
July 11, 20232 yr Congrats Kath. Didn't like the song myself but another contest victory in the bag  Rest of the top 5 is great!. And the clear stand out for me ANKOR finishing top 10 is good. I expected bottom 10 but was kinda concerned I'd be looking at another last placer for a while lol. Thank you to those few voters, now I need to find a third Swandive to send to BJSC... Big hand to Cody for hosting a really high quality edition of this comp.
July 11, 20232 yr Congrats Kath! I would have given jellyskin more points if I didn't know the song already — such a great contest! Can we not wait a year until the next one, please?
July 11, 20232 yr Everyone listen to the Mandy, Indiana album asap because it's fantastic — I honestly struggled to choose a song to send from it (also didn't realise they had been sent previously, oops) Thank you for hosting Cody!
July 11, 20232 yr Well done Kath on the win. Great track that one. Thanks to anyone who gave points to PROJECTOR, glad you enjoyed them.
July 11, 20232 yr Congrats Kath - smashing it rn. CB win incoming for the triple?! Fab Top 3, voted for all, though I did know the jellyskin track before this contest so my max points went to James Shinra. Thank you for hosting Cody x
