July 24, 20232 yr that dial drunk song has really just clicked for me in the past hour! i liked it and put it onto my playlist a few weeks ago but the post malone remix has just clicked and ive listened on repeat! glad it looks like itll go top 40 this week!
July 24, 20232 yr Glad I’m not alone in liking it. For the people who are hating on it, have you actually heard it? It’s so much better than the Jonas Blue one and actually in the same vain as the original, does not do any disservice to Tracey Chapman at all imo To be fair, so is Chinese water torture.
July 25, 20232 yr I hope the will.i.am song eventually goes top 40 Well it turns out the Fast Car cover won't be the worst thing people want in the top 40 in this thread after all. :kink:
July 25, 20232 yr i beggg you get over it the comment about it being a fn reject was made weeks ago 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I was joking? And that comment was made in the Dua forum and on Twitter as well
July 25, 20232 yr To be fair, so is Chinese water torture. Fairs lmao Maybe I set the bar a bit too low, but I do genuinely believe the Luke Combs version is a fantastic cover of the original
July 25, 20232 yr I hope the will.i.am song eventually goes top 40 It won’t, it’ll only fall from here.
July 25, 20232 yr that cover of Fast Car lacks rawness the original is sung "from the guts" and you can feel that the person who sings it, wrote the song, and experienced the story it has a rawness and an urgency that this cover doesn't have wish he had changed it a bit but instead he uses the same guitar instrumental, he doesn't even change the lyrics so it's kinda weird imho for him to sing "I work at the market as a checkout girl" kinda kills the story-telling for me
July 25, 20232 yr It won’t, it’ll only fall from here. It would help if R1 supported but they probably won’t seeing as he hasn’t had a hit since 2016
July 25, 20232 yr I think the fact he didn't change the lyrics is the best thing about the song so he sings from the perspective of a black queer woman which is admirable in these times and for his target market.
July 25, 20232 yr To be fair, so is Chinese water torture. This is almost a lyric from Katy Perry's Witness album!!!
July 25, 20232 yr Will anyone here admit to listening to Sprinter? :funky: It's still ringing out at functions I've been to in the last couple of weeks. I really thought people who like the genre of music it sits in would grow tired of it by now, let alone people who don't like UK Rap, but seemingly not! Which is great to be honest.
July 26, 20232 yr No update today? it normally comes out at 6 on wednesdays so im sure its on the way :)
July 26, 20232 yr No update today? It's only just gone live (please be patient guys, I can't type the update lightning fast so to avoid repetition and stepping on toes best to just leave me to it!)
