December 27, 20232 yr I tend to listen to Xmas songs until New Year then I am done, anything after that is too depressing for me. Yeh me too and the new Xmas hits until 6th Jan as they are fresh and a last spin of my Xmas album for that year on 4-6th Jan - this year The Goo Goo Dolls Xmas album from last year was the chosen one! Although kept Sam Fender The Dying Light on my playlist until Feb last year although more of a winter song plus I loved it!

December 27, 20232 yr Interesting... Hope Ariana can hold on to top 10 (even if i'm personally done with Christmas songs the minute Boxing Day is over haha). Also hope Leona can hold on to top 30, but should be an easy additional week in the the top 40 regardless. :yahoo: It'd be nice to see Stick Season #1 this Friday or the following, such staying power! December 27, 20232 yr I hope the Highlights can finally get #1 album sometime next year and I wonder if it’s still the biggest album of the year
December 27, 20232 yr I would love for Ariana to finally hold top 10 and the Ronettes to make top 20! Stick Season has indeed really stuck around through December, with the Christmas songs about to fade away and his physicals coming out on the 5th it would be nice if he got a few weeks at number 1.
December 27, 20232 yr Nice to see Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas at midweek #24... not sure if it's done enough to hold up by Friday in order to achieve a new peak though (its peak is #32).
December 27, 20232 yr This update puts Sam back to #2. Why does BBC radio 1 make an update program so early in the week when results can easily change during the week? Edited December 27, 20232 yr by chartdj
December 27, 20232 yr I think that's kind of the point of it being "first look" though, isn't it? Like, a peek into the charts before any of the other midweeks are printed. HOORAY that Ariana looks pretty certain to finally lock that top 10 in this week, can't see it losing 3 spots now.
December 27, 20232 yr I tend to listen to Xmas songs until New Year then I am done, anything after that is too depressing for me. Omfg THIS
December 27, 20232 yr Nice to see Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas at midweek #24... not sure if it's done enough to hold up by Friday in order to achieve a new peak though (its peak is #32). And her version of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" is set to reach a new peak, as well!
December 27, 20232 yr Last Christmas songs till end December as my chart then stop soon drop out January
December 27, 20232 yr Great to see Ariana in the top 10 and as high as #8! That’s only the highlight of this chart for me lol.
December 27, 20232 yr Realistically how much will the post Xmas collapse of Xmas song streams affect this weeks chart?
December 27, 20232 yr Fingers crossed that this is the week 'Santa Tell Me' finally does it! That would be a satisfying 20th credited top 10 hit for her in the U.K. if so.
December 27, 20232 yr I think in previous years when we've had an update for this chart it's basically barely changed at all by the final chart (apart from non Christmas songs rising a bit ofc) so I think Ariana is likely locked in for #8 now!
December 27, 20232 yr Love that Cher has climbed - hopefully it will return next year although I wouldn’t be surprised if her label don’t release an updated version of the album and push a new lead single to get some sales in as the album establishes itself in the Christmas market.
December 27, 20232 yr It’s not a rumour, just one troll spouting nonsense who is continuously let run amok by the moderators. Exactly! Given that everything else they post is total bollocks why would anyone actually believe it?
December 27, 20232 yr A few queries on Christmas songs further down the charts. I note John Williams is credited on the charts for "Carol of the bells" but on daily Spotify it is Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych. Any reason for the discrepancy? Has Vince Guaraldi Trio and the Charlie Brown Christmas song ever charted top 100 singles before? And would Hallelujah bring US acapella band Pentatonix a possible first ever UK top 100 hit? I personally like "Mary did you know" from them.
