I don’t know about overall, but Heat Waves increased in Spotify streams for 17 weeks in a row at the start of 2021

Here I was thinking January would be a pretty sleepy month with low streams. Even Greedy doing 300k+ a day at this point is pretty impressive.

 

Noah still climbing with Stick Season feels mad. Would be surprised if he doesn't get a BRIT Awards performance in like Olivia did after Drivers Licence blew up.

That's insane for Noah??? I really don't get the appeal of 'Stick Season' at all Just another generic, male singer song-writer song. Bleh. There are hundreds before him and there will be hundreds after him. But you can not deny those numbers. Insane! Just makes it more annoying that most of last year, Sophie's numbers would have given her a consistently strong selling number 1 smash... So unfortunate and unlucky for her! That's a really nice HHUK effect for her!

 

I am very happy to see Noah & Sam 'Homesick' debut so high! I hope it can level out and stabilise beyond NMF hype. I think with those numbers it should. So that's promising. It's a better song than Stick Season for me.

I personally differentiate between good vs bad singer-songwriters rather than male vs female

if a songwriter is great, I don't care if it's male or female and I appreciate the same a good male songwriter like Sufjan Stevens, Damien Rice, Bon Iver, Leonard Cohen, Ben Howard than a female songwriter like Lana del Rey, Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, Taylor Swift or Joni Mitchell

Hoping Sophie's physicals at least give Murder On The Dancefloor a chance at #1 as those streaming numbers for Stick Season are insane.

No, only 8 vinyl was included which were sold early, the sales for both will impact the upcoming chart.
