Some people appear to be struggling to tell the difference between casual observations regarding possible movements at the top of the chart over the coming weeks, and pointed expectations about the sort of numbers artists of a certain stature "should" be doing.
Beyonce fans really living up to their reputation as the most unbearable fan base! Nobody has even suggested that Beyoncé is doing badly, she has done amazing, several weeks at number one. The collapse in streaming numbers is a fact, just get over it

Is what they said actually wrong though? Or are you just labelling the entire fan base as 'unbearable' because that user pointed out something you don't like?

In all honesty, I mentioned Beyoncé's "collapse" jokingly several times for the sole purpose of winding up one particularly insufferable individual and it worked an absolute treat

hahaha same

by the way Beyonce officially collapses from 1 to 5 in the US :D

‘Twas ever thus on here. Any statistical observation about a female artist’s song fading must be expressed with extreme caution. I first found out 3 years ago when I said Drivers License was dropping like a stone - started a big storm about people trying to write off a successful new artist lol.

She had an unforseen decline in streaming numbers because the song was taken off TikTok. There's nothing wrong with people pointing this out and it doesn't take away from Beyoncé's great achievement of topping the UK chart.

Instead you guys have misinterpreted this as if it's a vicious attack on Beyoncé's success and have been insufferable going on and on about it for days. There's no need to bring down other female artists, make personal attacks on members, or pull the race card (if that's what Black N Blue's vague post is alluding to). This unnecessary behaviour is what Beyoncé's fan base is known for - it's been well documented in many news articles how they go to great lengths to harass anyone who has something negative to say about Beyoncé. Remember when they threw CDs at Keri Hilson when she was walking on the street!

My God this thread is exhausting to read some weeks.

So do we think Benson has any realistic chance of overthrowing Bey this week?

Tell us something new... I think they are part of the reason why Beyoncé comes off as not likeable at all to the general public.

Nope unless some new YouTube or new version or something it’s destined to get within 2k sales but not close enough. Beyonce is dropping a lot but benson is just stable not really getting enough

I don't expect the general public really have any understanding of Beyoncé's fanbase tbh!

Not really liked anything Beyonce released for years but , been obsessed with this what does that make me out of curiosity
I fear Taylor Swift is going to face the flop accusations too when her album inevitably isn’t quite as humongous as Midnights was

no one is safe from Buzzjack

If she does anything under 200k it's a flop right :P

Not picking on anyone in particular because I can't really read the situation, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to slight a single due to its sales not meeting an appropriate enough decline slope. At the end of the day, we've seen so many examples of songs picking up second, third, fourth (I'm not sure what "Heat Waves" is up to at this point) winds. Even if they don't, unless your single lives on the chart like "Mr. Brightside", I can guarantee that the majority of its lifetime sales will be accrued whilst not sitting on the chart, at which point every declared flop single will eventually be racking up those accreditations in perpetuity.

Here's the entire ARIA Chart run for Lady Gaga's "Always Remember Us This Way"*. It doesn't hang around very long and includes a very sharp decline in week 7 (in case you're wondering, only 1 Christmas song ahead of it that week, so that's not why). Even with the Oscars re-entry it's not a particularly inspiring chart run. Last month it got certified 5xPlatinum, and it'll probably keep adding to that once a year for a while yet. Simply no point in trying to downplay a single that'll always win in the long run.

*If you don't like this example because it's not a traditional single/it's tied to a popular movie I can supply additional examples

This is rich coming from you when the moment anyone dare say Dua Lipa is underperforming you have a tantrum

My favourite fact is Houdini only did 1 week in the UK top 5 despite 11 weeks radio 1 A-list, mutliple weeks airplay number 1, 3 physicals, loads of different versions, huge playlisting. FACT.

Both Beyoncé and Dua are doing amazingly well - there’s no need to tear one down to push another up.

I will get defensive about Dua because I'm had enough of the "flop" narratives certain posters on here (who never have anything positive to say about her) try to enforce. It's nasty and comes from a place of hate, bitterness and wanting a successful woman to fail.

It's quite revealing what your intentions are with this post when you cherrypick Houdini's 1 week in the top 5 when it had 7 weeks in the top 10 - that's more weeks than her smash hits Levitating and Dance The Night had. It recently crossed 300 million streams globally and is doing 3 million updates almost 6 months later. It's a certified hit no matter what.

And I’ve had enough of the “collapse” narrative, but as you’ve told me to do, get over it!

I like her but I’m not even a Beyoncé stan, I’ve just noticed the hypocrisy of users like you

Leave it here please, baffled as to how this has become an attack on one specific poster, not to mention the very selective framing of Houdini's success to paint a narrative. Move on please or I'll be deleting posts and issuing warns.
