Oh my, Tafty Three Hundred And Thirty Three, Rag N Bone Man - Human and The Killers - Human were both so ubiquitous at their time of release that they both sounded like they went #1.

Was always gonna sneak this in somewhere, couldn't be better timing after seeing Laroi live last night *.* Of course, shares its title with Shakespears Sister (albeit stylised differently x), I see I'm not the first to go down this route either :kink:

I was ready to bet money that you'd pick this :D

day 15 the avalanches "frontier psychiatrist"

idk what to pick for that one so i went for something that'd be 1) deserved 2) completely unrealistic and inexplicable

-x-

day 16 less than jake "the science of selling yourself short"

I'M THE KING OF CATASTROPHES

-x-

day 17 porter robinson "cheerleader"

April 18th – A song you like that tells a story

challenged by Herbs

Once upon a time, there was Herbs, and he grew up to be a real boy who decided to challenge us one day to a storytelling objective! :P For those who like songs that are meaningful, with character plots and themes to the lyrics, this challenge is for you. Many songs tell a narrative of events through the lyrics, and it’s all about finding one today that you enjoy as much as picking up a book and reading all about the events as they unfold. :magic:

April 18th – A song you like that tells a story [Challenged by Herbs]

Surely one of the best storytelling pieces in music history, the story of an obsessive fan who writes repeated letters to her hero, Slim Shady, talking about various occasions when he tried to get his attention. The eponymous character's name gave rise to a slang term that refers to overzealous or maniacal fans of a celebrity or personality; the term has since been included in the Oxford English Dictionary.

Eminem feat. Dido – Stan

April 18th: going for this one, brilliantly written despite its tragic nature.

Day 18

Sade - Pearls

Edited by Bjork

Considered using one of my favourite songs ever, but I'll save that artist for another time. This one fits the bill neatly:

April 18th - A song you like that tells a story

Bobbie Gentry - Ode To Billie Joe

This captivating gothic-country song can have its moment now after I realised that I'd forgotten it for a different day! 'Ode To Billie Joe' explores first-person narrative storytelling about a local suicide and the nonchalant reactions of a family in response to it - Bobbie said it's about unconscious cruelty.
