October 28, 20241 yr I'm wondering if APT has a physical sales boost ready to give a push this week; CDs have been on sale since last week but no sign on the physical sales chart. Maybe still in the running for top two.
October 28, 20241 yr I actually thought Abba would be at the very least in the running for Number 1 album with the first 50 years singles album release so really surprised to see it as low as 13. Gold has sold too many for that to happen. Knew it would only go top 20.
October 28, 20241 yr I hope Gaga charts at #10 just so we can say she has peaked at every number in the top 10.
October 28, 20241 yr Courteeners have been extremely consistent album sellers even with re-releases, I figured they'd be heading for a fairly comfortable #1 this time based on the release schedule. Intrigue to see how high Tyler, The Creator's album can get with only 4 days of streams (well, 3 days and a probably dodgy estimate) but I don't think he'd have been contending for #1 even with a full week. Hopefully 'Noid' can go top 40 at least since it has a full week of streams unlike the rest of the album.
October 28, 20241 yr Halsey deserves to be doing much better, it’s the first album of hers I’ve listened to and it’s great, one of the best concept albums in recent years
October 28, 20241 yr Sailor Song would be the 13th song with “song” in its title to get to #1. Legitimately love this kind of analysis
October 29, 20241 yr And that is a prime example of why the 3 track rule is needed, regardless of how much it can be annoying at times lol hard disagree. personally I'd much prefer for the charts to be an accurate reflection of current popular music even if that meant the same artist taking up every single spot in the top 100, as opposed to the charts being manipulated and no longer representing the true state of popular music just for the sake of making it more "exciting" to follow or whatever the purpose is supposed to be
October 29, 20241 yr On reflection I don't think ABBA were aiming for another 1, not at the prices etc that were set. I did order it and it arrives tomorrow, but it was $57AU for the double cd. Super expensive. It may go number 1 in Australia, but that would surprise me more then if it didn't. I think this collection is more of a closure of ABBA releases, just like Voyager was truly a personal tribute from them to the enduring fans rather then a major comeback. I will be interested in where the streaming is allotted after this week though. personally I think it should stay with "The first 50 years" as it is more complete than "Gold" but we will see
October 29, 20241 yr You're right, it does slap, but why is your age relevant? As he has been deweaved by a GaGa song mesnt for younger people on tiktok? Or maybe he id daying he likes it snd thr tounger ones winet...
October 29, 20241 yr Sailor Song would be the 13th song with “song” in its title to get to #1.Justice for 'The Smurf Song'
October 29, 20241 yr Sailor Song would be the 13th song with “song” in its title to get to #1. I'd prefer the first song with "disease" in its title to do it instead.
October 29, 20241 yr Only one UK number one hit single has that phrase in the title and that was in 2009 Edited October 29, 20241 yr by adrianreavill83
October 29, 20241 yr I'm shocked how low Razorlight are, I thought they'd have a bit more of a fanbase.
October 29, 20241 yr Mini Tuesday up date 1 sailor song 2 apt 3 disease https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/r...-gaga-number-1/
October 29, 20241 yr Think Gigi definitely has it, this article is obviously just to get blinks and Gaga stans engaged
October 29, 20241 yr Think Gigi definitely has it, this article is obviously just to get blinks and Gaga stans engaged And K-pop. But you're right, gigi has it
October 29, 20241 yr hard disagree. personally I'd much prefer for the charts to be an accurate reflection of current popular music even if that meant the same artist taking up every single spot in the top 100, as opposed to the charts being manipulated and no longer representing the true state of popular music just for the sake of making it more "exciting" to follow or whatever the purpose is supposed to be That was a highly streamed album. That album was number one in the albums chart with monster sales. The fact the album was streamed so much does not need to be represented twice... I disagree with the premise of ACR (and other rules), but I can't see how anyone would be supportive of anything that allows the complete domination from one album's tracks that are already being represented in an appropriate chart!
