November 5, 2024Nov 5 Going with BBC on the TV and NBC via YouTube on the laptop to start off with and then doomscrolling through twitter about every two hours after I hit the sack (damn job!)
November 5, 2024Nov 5 Donald Trump is ahead in Kentucky and Indiana according to CNN That's expected, it depends by how much and in what counties.
November 5, 2024Nov 5 Indiana results right now: Sullivan County: About 40% of the vote in, Trump is leading by a huge margin but Harris has gained about 3% so far on Biden in the last election. Whitley County: About 40% of the vote, Harris making gains on Biden again The rest of the counties are a similar picture, about 40% of the vote in and Harris has made gains on Biden's performance in 2020 A similar picture is being painted in Kentucky as well at this moment Edit: A really good result for Harris in Indiana's populous Allen county as well so far!
November 5, 2024Nov 5 what's your coverage of choice? I'm probably going to be bouncing between BBC (as much as it's my default I feel wary about trusting them for decent US election coverage), CNN, NBC and my favourite political livestreamer. HyGmb09J3kE I recommend these nerds x
November 5, 2024Nov 5 I obviously hope Kamala wins but I worry about what could happen to her if she does. We don't want a repeat of January 6th (and worse), yet I would not put it past him.
November 5, 2024Nov 5 If the UK general election has taught me anything it's that mainstream coverage is awful at getting individual, meaningful results (all those missed result announcements on 4th July!) and this time we have such a partial set of early information - these are mostly partial counts and we don't know exactly if these partial Indiana votes are more early votes, mail votes or election day votes. So nuanced takes are really important. I said partial like 3 times
November 5, 2024Nov 5 This is Nevada currently Total: 1,218,607 🔵D: 404,779 (33.2%) 🔴R: 452,500 (37.1%) ⚪️O: 361,328 (29.7%) Nevada has a history with late mail in ballots so it’s really not over at all but Trump in pole position just about but nobody knows how those independents are going to vote
November 5, 2024Nov 5 Author seen enough, these early results from Indiana are enough to declare a Kamala blowout. Philadelphia turnout looking very good too, in more serious coverage.
November 5, 2024Nov 5 Author seen enough, these early results from Indiana are enough to declare a Kamala blowout. I was meming a little but Hamilton County, Indiana has come in with Democrats narrowly leading (though only with 66% reporting), and that's a suburban county of Indianapolis that has pretty much always voted Republican (but has been trending towards being competitive the last few elections).
November 5, 2024Nov 5 highkey hoping Alaska and Iowa will flip, Texas to come within 1% x The border is a factor in Texas though so Trump might still hold up well there.
November 5, 2024Nov 5 I know it's way too early but it seems Kamala is pretty consistently outperforming Biden's margins in the rural Indiana counties which surely bodes well for the rust belt in general. I'm taking the hopium x
November 6, 2024Nov 6 Vermont and Kentucky called for Harris & Trump respectively No surprises there... Edit: Indiana now also called for Trump
