Geordie hero Sam Fender is looking for the best debut of his career with People Watching (4), which takes the lead for this week’s highest new entry. But not far behind Sam is Tate McRae, also on track to debut inside the Top 5 with 2 hands (5). Girls Aloud’s former chart-topper I’ll Stand By You is expected to re-enter the Official Singles Chart at Number 10 thanks to the release of I’ll Stand By You (Sarah’s Version) for BBC Children In Need. Released as the Official single of BBC Children In Need this year, I'll Stand By You (Sarah's Version) contains a previously unheard full lead vocal from the band's much-missed Sarah Harding. I'll Stand By You (a cover of the Pretenders' 1994 original), originally peaked at Number 1 in 2004. It was the second of Girls Aloud's four UK Number 1 hits (the others are Sound of the Underground, Walk This Way with Sugababes and The Promise) Following the release of their new album From Zero, Linkin Park’s latest single Two Faced looks to earn a Number 11 debut. BTS star Jin could score his first UK Top 40 solo single with RUNNING WILD expected to debut at Number 16.
November 17, 20241 yr article out Yup was waiting for a new page to post it :kink: thanks for getting me there! I'll Stand By You confirmed to be a re-entry.
November 17, 20241 yr are wham and mariah quite low for this time of year or is this average? No - last year was a ridiculously early year. They are back to pre-2023 levels - and therefore actually charting earlier than 2022 and before. They are on a par with 2020 levels which at the time were a record - but 5 days earlier! In fact even compared with 2024 they are tracking those levels only just effectively a week later (which had to happen at some point) - or rather 5 days (as this was a leap year). Overall streaming is up too which makes it hard to keep up.
November 17, 20241 yr Nice to see a busy and interesting chart week for once! The charts have been fairly stagnant as of late

November 17, 20241 yr Didn't expect Girls Aloud to be that high but happy it is, hopefully it can stay top 100.
November 17, 20241 yr There's a Girls Aloud concert show on ITV later tonight, so "I’ll Stand By You" could get a boost as they performed Sarah’s version on their tour.
November 17, 20241 yr There's a Girls Aloud concert show on ITV later tonight, so "I’ll Stand By You" could get a boost as they performed Sarah’s version on their tour. Out of curiosity, how do they perform Sarah's Version on tour?
November 17, 20241 yr Out of curiosity, how do they perform Sarah's Version on tour? A video of Sarah playing on the screens and they join in and sing.
November 17, 20241 yr A video of Sarah playing on the screens and they join in and sing. Ah I see. Makes sense
November 17, 20241 yr I know it is likely to tumble down there charts now but seeing I’ll Stand By You at #10 in the first look makes my heart so happy ❤️
November 17, 20241 yr Ouch I was hoping for better for girls aloud. I think this is a pretty amazing start for them - not sure what more could be expected!
November 17, 20241 yr If Girls Aloud managed to stay top 10 they would be the first girl band to chart in the top 10 in 3 consecutive decades. If they stay in the top 40 they would join Bananarma as the only girl groups to chart in the top 40 in 3 consecutive decades.
November 17, 20241 yr I think this is a pretty amazing start for them - not sure what more could be expected! I guess I am just bias and expected more fans to love this version as it is such an amazing version of the song  . Imo it should be in the top 5.
November 17, 20241 yr Great start for Sam to be top 5 and 3 Linkin Park songs equals 4 indie/rock songs in the top 20, when’s the last time that happened post 2017?? Also nice to see GA in the top 10, not really a fan of them but nice for nostalgia reasons!
November 18, 20241 yr Great to Sam back in the charts and possible no1 before xmas revolution great suprise from GA they still have a big fan club also to answer Sarah s version is mostly with her vocals except refrain that they sing all together and the bridge
November 18, 20241 yr I hope later today we get confirmation as to whether the two versions of Dirty Cash (Money Talks) will be combined. I think they should be as the PAWSA version is essentially a remix of the 1990 classic. Even though Adventures Of Stevie V is still a co-lead, PAWSA has top billing which gives the OCC credence to still separate the versions.
