Anita has been re-credited on São Paulo on the album, and Lana has been added to the abyss, as well as Giorgio moroder on big sleep, and Travis Scott & Florence + the machine on reflections laughing, but playboi carti is still not credited to timeless on the album! I hope Lana’s name attached now will help the abyss grow in streams, it’s a great track and would love for it to be one of the charting tracks

Carti is now re-credited on Spotify too.

I don’t get why artists do this tbh

Fairly certain it's to encourage people to listen to the whole album to find the features, if the features are credited from the start fans of those artists will just go straight to that song and skip the rest of the album. Frustrating but very smart

the Weeknd having a pretty good and stable 2nd day on Spotify

Huge drop for Wallen-I'm the problem almost out of the top 200

Timeless at 7, on for a new/re-peak? Cry For Me at 12 and Sao Paulo at 15
Some quite big moves on Spotify, notably big climbs for Beautiful Things and Bad Dreams

I've checked 3 times and still cannot hear Florence in that Weeknd song :D

new strtegy to get streams, credit someone who is barely audible :D

disappointing start from The Weeknd

but not that surprising since the quality is subpar and has been like this for a while now

was listening earlier to the singles from Dawn FM and almost fell asleep

Take my Breath, Sacrifice, Out of time, Less than Zero

did people really like any of those? what a bunch of unmemorable songs imho

compare it to the singles from After Hours:

Heartless.Blinding lights-After hours.In your eyes-Save your tears

Take My Breath and Sacrifice are great! Sacrifice especially is such a nod to Thriller-era MJ.

Turns out Spotify have been manually adjusting total streaming numbers.

They’ve taken 52m streams of Who by Jimin, finally cottoning onto the fraud

Big drop incoming on the official chart then! Wonder if the charts company will also finally get wise to it

Horton hears a Who!

I like 'Who' anway it has old school Justin Timberlake vibes and has a similar guitar melody to 'Am I Wrong?' by Nico and Vinz.

Do you know for sure it's being done manually?

I don't know how happy I am with humans being able to edit Spotify streaming figures manually. Maybe it needs to be done to remove fraud, and computers doing it has its own flaws and exploits as we have all witnessed countless times, like with the suspicious behaviour of the song in question, but humans have flaws too. If one of the Spotify staff members hates manufactured pop music, for example, how can we trust they won't be biased, or even worse, just adjust their streams more to their liking?

It's sad to say, but I think I'd rather a computer just count streams and a human not tamper with the numbers tbh. Sure, humans can program it to try and get the computer to ignore things like obvious spamming of a song 24/7 and things like that. But a human Spotify staff member just being able to add/subtract millions of streams to a song's figures, it doesn't sit well with me. Computers don't have emotions, beliefs, likes, dislikes, etc, so they are less biased and count the numbers.

What I think happened is that they deleted or banned a lot of Spotify accounts they found to be bots boosting certain artists and essentially every stream counted from those accounts got deleted. Which would be totally fair.

#191. Charli xcx - "Apple"

Only song on Apple Music.

Will be interesting to see how big of a boost she'll get from the Grammys. Already won 3 awards with the main ceremony yet to come!
