I don't want to get down in the weeds of it because it's a bit much for the Midweeks thread, but my point is that it's incredibly uncouth to diminish an award down to a superfluous detail because it implies that she could never deserve it on her own merits. Music is completely subjective and people just like different music sometimes. It's the equivalent of saying no one actually LIKED that Charli xcx album, it just had a great marketing campaign. It's just incredibly dismissive to an artist who's spent their whole career being dismissed by rockist institutions & individuals for not fitting into the box they foresaw for her.
February 4, 2025Feb 4 it happens quite a lot lately with vinyls the labels sends the album to production 2/3 months before the release but the artists keeps working on it so when it comes out it's not the same product my friend ordered 4/5 different vinyl variants x the weeknd that appeared on Spotify and they're all only 10-11 songs long, so missing half of the album x the grammys, I always cared zero, worst awards ever cos it's zero about talent and all about big labels and lobbying
