I’m for having this even more frequently. At least 4 times a year. There are soooo many songs I want to send here and my taste doesn’t always align with BJSC these days sadly.

I would love to get a third win here, it’s been a while, give this old dog a bone ☠️

I would love for this (and Nuggets) to be more than once a year as well (and I may have the behind the scenes powers to make this happen x) it used to be and I'm not sure why it stopped. It's second only to BJSC in terms of time it's been around and participation numbers! And for my personal tastes, I always make way better discoveries than in almost any other contest (saying that, I need to start finding something for this x)

Would definitely love more of these, indie contests (both the anything-goes UP and the guitar Nuggets) are the best of the extra contests IMO and though I have been trying to cut back on the amount of extra contests I do I'm always up for something like this.

Well the fact that BJSC spin-off contests have all but ceased for good seems that there should be ample opportunities for something like this to take place.

The retro contests (in 20th & 21st century forums respectively) have been quite successful and niche since they started in recent times, and they happen quite regularly too which is nice.

The electronic music that does well here leans more towards alternative though — it’s not really straight-forward dance music that is winning? Every contest is usually a good mix of alternative, electronic, indie-pop etc

I have sent something. With such a short time frame I knew I'd be too busy to really give it any thought, so I sent the first thing I could think of and it's probably not the right genre for this contest but at least I'm entering.

These contests naturally started to slow down when they started having to share space in this forum with Nuggets but I do think it would be nice if we at least had more than one of each of those per year as it seems to be these days! It is weird to think that Club Bizarre has almost caught up to the number of editions Unknown Pleasures has had when the latter has been running for so much longer (the first UP was in mid 2010 vs. the first CB in late 2017).

((also BJSC spinoffs have not ceased, the subforum is just a bit of a wild west with no schedule, we can have more of them if we have ideas x Could probably go for a new Worldvision some time soon x))
