April 25, 20251 yr Author Sad to see Benson off the playlist already, but I'm even more disappointed that they've booted off YUNGBLUD's epic masterpiece after just 3 weeks on the C-list 😢15/14/10 seems to be the new playlist sizes they've settled on.
April 25, 20251 yr Great to see Addison back on the playlist for the first time since 'Diet P' ()Yay Lorde too, did wonder if she'd be straight to A-List as I've fleetingly tuned in and heard DJs hyping up the snippet on several occasions, but not quite.Intrigued to see if PinkPantheress' 'Stateside' will get skipped over or added at a later date

April 25, 20251 yr I’m interested to see how they censor Itty Bitty - it’s an awful song anyway, but R1 seem to like Ashnikko for some reason. Good to see additions for Addison Rae, Lorde and AJ Tracey. And nice to see Selena, Inhaler and Joy Crooked all moving up. I agree that it seems too early to be removing Yungblud, it’s such an amazing track from him. Quite surprised not to see Rudimental and Loyle Carner on there yet, and the Shaboozey/Myles Smith track either.

April 25, 20251 yr Author In being booted off the B-list this week, 'Smoke The Pain Away' marks the first time Calvin hasn't made the A-list since 'Nuh Ready Nuh Ready' in 2018, which was 16 singles ago - in fact it's only the 3rd time in his last 35 singles that he hasn't made the A-list! Still reminds me of a lot of the Chris Brown song of the same name The Morgan Seatree Florence remix has some good buildups and is better than Seatree's newer song so that's good.Ashnikko - thought her Radio 1 playlisting days were over, Itty Bitty is sailing the brat wave though!?

April 26, 20251 yr I forgot what year it was, but Calvin Harris - Miracle was one of the biggest hits of its year recently. If he can get a hit even half as big as that soon he'll probably get another bunch of singles making the Playlist after that.Plus I think they still have the rule where half the Playlist has to be British artists? If so, that helps too as commercially successful ones are rarer right now.

Still Bad was sounding good on Radio 2!Doesn't matter much to me anyway now, I like making my Fake Nows full of big radio hits but a song can feel like a hit regardless of which station I hear it on now I've massively upped my R2 listenership. Still feels unfair that certain songs that would be fine on R1 get snubbed because of factors like age, the record label they're released on and so on but what can you do.
