Posted June 1, 20251 yr For me, it was "Spinning Around" in the summer of 2000, when I was just 5-years-old. I believe I was holidaying in Skegness at the time. Prior to this, I never heard of her or any of her songs. Edited June 1, 20251 yr by DanielsAloud
June 1, 20251 yr I Should Be So Lucky. Before I really even knew who Kylie Minogue was.Literally a fan from the very first (UK) hit.
June 1, 20251 yr I think it might've been 'I Believe In You' in 2005 as Now 60 was the first album I ever owned and it was on there!I distinctly remember trying to phonetically sing along as a 7-year-old
June 1, 20251 yr It would've been 'I Should Be So Lucky', it was one of those songs that felt like it was always on the radio as a very young child.
June 1, 20251 yr Lucky, obvs.I didn’t even know Locomotion was her first ever single. In fact I heard the original 1987 Aussie release that was less poppy only in 1994!!
June 2, 20251 yr I should be so lucky, I followed her from the start due to been a big fan of charlene.
June 2, 20251 yr you* Would be Spinning Around or On a Night Like This for me, they were all over the music video channels when I was younger (probably what made me then go and take such an interest in the Ultimate Kylie DVD featuring all the music videos that I was obsessed with for so long!)
June 2, 20251 yr Hard to pinpoint which song exactly but my earliest memories are watching the music channels and that would have been 2000/1, so it'll have been one of 'Spinning Around', 'On a Night Like This' or 'Head'. I remember 'Lucky' and 'Locomotion' regularly getting plays as well so it could have been one of them too (off on a tangent here, but reminds me that I owned some pop compilations that had both songs on; one of them was 'Dance Party' which had a second disc where you could learn the dance moves!). My mum had the 'Light Years' CD which I listened to all the time. I still have the CD and the booklet is worn in the middle because I used to read the lyrics and look at the photos every time I listened.
June 3, 20251 yr I remember seeing the video for I should be so lucky as a young child, I was born when it was #1 in the charts and my mother was telling me. The first song I remember paying attention to myself was Spinning around.

June 7, 20251 yr 'Breathe'! My mom bought me some compilation back in 1998 or 1999, and that was on it.I didn't make a connection that it was KYLIE until many years later though, as I always thought of this song as an obscure track by some dance artist. 🙃
