The Police - King Of Pain

Queen - Radio Ga Ga

Nik Kershaw - Wouldn't It Be Good

Ultravox - One Small Day

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax

Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again

Echo And The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon

Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

Nena - 99 Red Balloons

Very strong start to the year indeed x

Had to make tough choices from this fantastic group of songs, I ended up with a shortlist of 20! Anyway here’s my 5

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax

The Police - King Of Pain

Echo And The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon

Nik Kershaw - Wouldn't It Be Good

Nena - 99 Red Balloons

Well these would be my votes for the previous poll x

The Flying Pickets - Only You

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Pretenders - 2000 Miles

The Smiths - This Charming Man

Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart

All ones I already knew ofc, best discoveries from that lot were The Assembly, Tears For Fears and Blancmange (and honestly unironically Roland Rat Superstar x), other gooduns I already knew including Ozzy Osbourne, Thompson Twins, Billy Joel, Howard Jones and Genesis (a song I didn't recognise from the name but knew the song as soon as I heard it).

And for this week:

The Alarm - Where Were You Hiding When The Storm Broke?

Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax

The Icicle Works - Love Is A Wonderful Colour

Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

A great discovery from The Alarm and almost-discovery from The Icicle Works (heard it once before), next best discoveries were Big Country, Thomas Dolby and Marillion, next best ones I knew already were Nena, Queen, Eurythmics and Nik Kershaw.

top notch classics and many having to fall short 😱

These 4 after Relax would have been my next-best choices...🙂

Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive!

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax

Shannon - Let The Music Play

Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again

Nena - 99 Red Balloons

------------------------------

Break Machine - Street Dance

Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

Ultravox - One Small Day

Thompson Twins - Doctor Doctor

Queen - Radio Ga Ga

Fiction Factory - (Feels Like) Heaven

Hyperactive! is so fun in video and sound. Relax sounds big, anthemic stadium rock and synthpop mixed. Shannon is very cool and ahead of time with that acid house style production.

Here Comes The Rain is really nice orchestral synthpop I have liked for a long time. 99 Red Balloons I have also liked for a long time and when it speeds up is great.

'Street Dance' is another good dance tune, the 'drop' in place of the chorus is quite modern sounding! Rockwell fun too. Ultravox One Small Day is another good track. 'Doctor Doctor' better than 'Hold Me Now' for me. Gaga overplayed but good, and Fiction Factory have a lovely, if dreary vocally song. Prefer the Dario G cover!
