I fell i love with this song as soon as I heard her perform it live in Glasgow, I've been listening to live recordings on YouTube for the longest time so I was a bit worried the studio version wouldn't hit the same but my god it's stunning, it showcases her vocals so well - that final note 😭😭💀

Heard this now and definitely does the live version justice! I’ve always liked Chappell’s ballads even if others have been lukewarm and I enjoy that it does go against the grain of what is popular currently! Sounds very Corrs/Cranberries which is an excellent sound to emulate.

Also hyped for the music video, she has kept us waiting for one!

What a beautiful track, I agree with the comparisons. The outro especially is very Talk On Corners/Jagged Little Pill, and that final note is perfect. I guess beabadoobee is the most obvious modern reference point in terms of production.

It has a timeless (kind of Roxette-esque) melody, great vocals, lovely production, I hope the public take to it!

Definitely here for a big ballad hit for Chappell (or really any ballad hit that isn’t by a male troubadour).

'The Giver' wasn't for me but this is a return to form

I totally hear the '90s comparisons that people have mentioned in here, especially Roxette, the way the production bubbles away is very 'It Must Have Been Love'.

Here's hoping for her second #1 as the reaction feels a lot more positive than her last single.
