Personally considering how badly she was affected by the critics reactions to Reputation and it not being award winning,

shes probably at a stage now where she doesnt care what the critics say 😅

This is not a grammy contender. Be nominated in everything but win as an album? Highly doubt it.

Isn't Rolling Stone supposed to be a respectable publication???

No idea i wasn't paying to read the article 🤣

@Henessy Lake i doubt its supposed to be and I doubt she cares because she waited until after the eligibility period to release it or anything from it 🤣

If I didn't know who the producers were, I would have sworn it was Jack. This doesn't feel like Max Martin at all, am I wrong?

I keep finding myself singing little bits here and there. I’m really into this atm. I can’t wait to listen again after work.

It’s quite a grower. I like how it’s not bold and brash tbh.

After two full listens, my favorites are Opalite, The Life Of A Showgirl, Wood, Eldest Daughter, Elizabeth Taylor, Father Figure, and Cancelled. Wi$h Li$t is my least favorite.

I think Opalite would be a good single choice.

Just finished listening in full and I have to say... this is actually the most I've enjoyed a Taylor album on first listen probably since Lover? Really not understanding the mass hysteria denouncing it.

Are there questionable lyrics scattered throughout? Sure. There's no classic, major pop moment Taylor in here but melodically it's all really enjoyable (Actually Romantic sounding like Johnny Orlando's Everybody Wants You all throughout though lol tearsmile). One thing I'll say is I can't help feeling The Life of a Showgirl was just tacked on the end to give her an excuse to come up with a big concept for the album and ensure she could follow through with the visuals and 94,000 variants on offer as per every era because it doesn't really feel like there's one constant throughout that connects it all together?

CANCELLED! feels like it came six eras too late and was probably picked up from Reputation's cutting room floor, but ngl I love it oop. That, Wi$h Li$t, Honey and Opalite are probably my favourites but can see myself going back to all of it ~

I've listened this afternoon and thought it started off promisingly with The Fate of Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor and Opalite... but sadly I wasn't really taken with anything at all after that. I particularly disliked Actually Romantic and CANCELLED!.. it's two albums in a row now for me where sadly there's not much I'm sensing I'll want to keep.

But to be fair I've never really loved anything of hers as a complete album aside from 1989 and Folklore so I'm guessing I'm just not the target market here

The 1st half when compared to the 2nd half is huge, i am not going back to that second half no thank you apart from the title track

The title tracks the main one I’ve wanted to go back too. (I just seen on X as well that it’s very similar to Jonas brothers Cool) I didn’t know what it was that it reminded me of but hearing them side by side it’s that!

Gonna give the album some more chances but I feel like I’d have been a bit different if this had just dropped surprise style but having a bit of build up with the photoshoots, the album title, knowing the producers it did make me think the album would be different to what we got.

Aldi is CANCELLED!

Shame you can’t cherry pick the songs from her album on iTunes. She’s doing this to be greedy and make people buy the album. If she’s not doing it to be greedy, why else is she doing it? You can cherry picks the songs off her other albums but not this one
