Indeed - I only found out about it recently myself when I got a notification to tell me I'd won the day over the weekend. One would imagine Joseph wins most days because he keeps all the liked chart content for his own big greasy chart stat hands! 🫢

I don't think things are in urgent need of change from last contest personally. We're only 4 entries away from matching last months numbers with three days to go.

My spicy hot take is that BJSC is better with around about 45-50 participants.

Your booked and blessed business fish doesn't need the protracted torture of a 32 song semi final when half of it is going to be seven minute melody-free vocals over a repetitive unchanging dance beat.

i agree. BJSC does have a sweet spot in the 45-55 range where there’s just enough folks to run a pair of reasonably sized semis and then have a final that’s not too wild in size.

It makes listen throughs and the final results shorter and so works better for peoples schedules.

And after a certain point it starts to feel more like a chore than someone you do for fun because you have so many songs to listen to and rank.

On a site that barely strings together 50 active users a week I think we’re doing just grand

for me i find 56-65 participants the best with a good number of discoveries without the semi-finals feeling like a chore. i also find more diversity with that number too, hence 2024 numbers were pretty good imo x

(edit: i also don't mind a few more if it means more different sounds 😄)
