11 - 15

11. Tame Impala - End of Summer [59 Points]

12. Disco Lines & Tinashe - No Broke Boys [54 Points]

13. Addison Rae - Headphones On [53 Points]

14. PinkPantheress - Illegal [50 Points]

15. Danny L Harle feat. PinkPantheress - Starlight [49 Points]

Just missing out on the top 10 is the 9 minute comeback single from Tame Impala. A song titled 'End of Summer' seems a tad ironic to be included in a "Songs of the Summer" countdown. However, plenty of you had this soundtrack your Summer in one way or another. It's my first time hearing and it's alright, I guess. Not really *my* thing.

At #12 is a song I'm surprised couldn't crack the top 10. It's been pretty inescapable this Summer. It's Disco Lines remix of Tinashe's song 'No Broke Boys'. As a huge Tinashe stan 'No Broke Boys' was an immediate highlight from her latest album for me and although Disco Lines has turned it into a generic dance smash, I am appreciative that it has given Tinashe another chart smash! It's generic, but an absolute BOP!

Pop girl of the Summer Addison Rae is at #13 with 'Headphones On'. Still not as on board with Addison Rae as many of you are but she has a big following and has songs that have resonated with many of you to get multiple entries in this countdown.

Much like Disco Lines, at #14 we have a song that was (and still IS!) inescapable from the world of TIk Tok! PinkPantheresses 'Illegal' was everywhere during the Summer and became a big viral hit on Tik Tok. It's really catchy and it's easy to see why it's considered a Song of the Summer for a few people!

Ending this section with another PinkPantheress track, this time it's her collab with Danny L Harle 'Starlight' that has squeezed it's way onto here. First time listening to it and it finished moments ago... I actually don't remember it lmao. Oops. But it's done well to finish top 15 here!

That section is pretty stacked *.*

'Headphones On' is unsurprisingly my favourite there heart I was particularly obsessed with it in spring but definitely associate it with summer too after hearing it live in July!

HAIM - Relationships [67 Points]

10

Lorde - Shapeshifter [61 Points]

Into the top 10 we go and we have back-to-back entries from artists that I personally have been vocal about not being the biggest fan of, so this commentary may not be the greatest, I apologise in advance. At #9 we have the sister trio HAIM with what was their comeback single 'Relationship'. My friend (who also isn't a HAIM fan) told me to listen to this with an open mind... I did. It still wasn't for me, but I don't dislike it. It has an almost 90's hip-hop feel in it's production in places to me. It's a fun song overall.

At #10 is Lorde with the final of her entries in this countdown, 'Shapeshifter'. I think (could be wrong) this isn't a single? So the fact it's here due to how many people listened to her album and enjoyed this track is a feat in itself! (This is someone's cue to tell me it was released as a single and went number 1 in 20 territories or something), On first listen (again not a Lorde fan, so why would I source it out?) I'm actually enjoying this! The production is beautiful. I still can't *completely* get on board with Lorde's monotonous vocal style, especially during the first verse, but I like this one.

At #7 and #8 we have one song which is around where I would have predicted it to be and the other one... I genuinely thought would be a couple of places higher............

I think there's only one song left I voted for, so hope that's as high as possible

*turns up as the very next song in the countdown* tearsmile

Top 15 is good for 'Starlight' though, it's such a banger! Of the songs left, I hope Chappell comes out top.

Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [75 Points]

08

Sabrina Carpenter - Manchild [71 Points]

And just like that we have reached the top 2 of Buzzjack's Songs of the Summer 2025! Congratulations to Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun for being the WINNER cheer cheer

SERIOUSLY THOUGH... HOW did this miss the top 5 much less top 3?? It was both mine and @RobBot top awarded song of the Summer and honestly Stan Twitter & Tik Tok would have you believe this was an absolute chart SMASH. It felt inescapable, particularly whilst she was OPENING for Tate McRae and all those videos of her performing this song going viral and having millions of views. It's crazy it didn't translate into being a chart smash. It's fantastic. Perfect for the Summer and pretty Euphoric. It's the perfect example for me where I prefer another song as a "song" ('Plastic Box') but I awarded this more points in this countdown because it gives more Summer vibes on the whole. Such an injustice seeing it finish outside the top 5 </3

At number 8 is the love/hate single from Sabrina Carpenter, 'Manchild'. It's about where I would have predicted for it to land and tbh it's deserved. It's really catchy and was another huge chart hit for her. The pre-chorus is insanely catchy and it was really hard to escape that and the bridge (with the dance) on Tik Tok! Such a fun song.

sombr - 12 to 12 [78 Points]

06

Confidence Man & JADE - gossip. [77 Points]

In this section we hit the top 5 with sombr and his smash hit song '12 to 12'. Another song I've actually not heard in full until now (heard clips here and there but never in full) and it's another song that I don't personally care for. Oops. Not sure he's really my thing tbh and the success seems pretty random to me, but good for him as he is clearly resonating with many people both on this forum and away from it. He has entered at number 5 in this forums Songs of the Summer countdown and beat some big Buzzjack faves so he is definitely doing something right!

At number 6 is the 1st of 2 JADE appearances in the top 10! Showing up here is her collaboration with Australian Electro Pop Group Confidence Man with their infectious, Basement Jaxx-inspired dance banger 'gossip.'. Full of cheeky word play and a really fun bridge where JADE tells us what Tina has said about us.... *shocked Pikachu Meme*. Another track which showcases JADE's wonderfully powerful and charming personality. It was a big hit in my playlists this Summer and I'm glad to see it was for many others too! Such a fun, cvnty song packed full of personality and incredibly quoteable!

sombr’s random success is everything we didn’t know we needed in our lives cheeseblock

I'm a belated 'Midnight Sun' convert so apologies for not helping it out at the time of voting.

'gossip.' is very Basement Jaxx indeed and '12 to 12' is sombr's best to date, a good pair there.

'Fame is a Gun' top 5!

bratcheeseblock

Definitely don't think the success of 12 to 12 is "random" - it's his third reshuffle chart #1 of the year in the chart forum, and his third multichart top 10 (currently at #2), sombr's definitely secured a number of fans on here!

Addison Rae - Fame is a Gun [86 Points]

04

BLACKPINK - JUMP [85 Points]

At number 3 is Buzzjack fave, Addison Rae with her single 'Fame is a Gun'. Her highest entry in this countdown and tbh, I think it's my least favourite from her I've heard so far (heard it a couple times - so not a one and done thing fyi lol), so to see that this is the one BuzzJack gravitated towards more is confusing to me, but each to their own etc.. Addison not having ANY song in the top 3 on this countdown on BuzzJack would have been surprising tbh. She's a huge online favourite and has a major following here as I'm sure her album soundtracked a lot of people's Summer this year.

Number 4 we see the comeback of the current biggest girl group BLACKPINK as they bring K-Pop dynamics to a very European, trance/dance track, courtesy of Diplo. 'JUMP' ended up surprising many, many people with just how different in sound it was to their past material. It was one of the biggest tracks to soundtrack my Summer this year. Catchy verses & pre-choruses. Infectious beat. Slick production and a rave for a chorus! Just pure and utter Summer chaos in the absolute BEST WAY. It went on to be a big hit for them and many people on here agreed that it was in fact one of the songs of the Summer.

'The Subway' (I gave many points) or 'No Broke Boys' (which I forgot. LOL)...
