6 albums at over 2 million (I believe Escapology is there too). He's really not done bad for himself!

  • As of January 2025, we had these totals: 2,683,271 Robbie Williams - Greatest Hits 2,624,317 Robbie Williams - I've Been Expecting You 2,459,517 Robbie Williams - Swing When You're Winning

  • Rudebox is SUCH an underrated album! Life Thru A Lens remains my favourite by him though.

In the article it says "pre-streaming, greatest hits albums were big business" OCC look at your own album charts, they still are! Robbie has some amazing sales, I thought Rudebox would've been ahead of some of his 2010s albums

It's the OCC do you really expect them to make sense , just look at the singles chart for starters and the resets are random as hell some weeks

It's ahead of all of them apart from Take the Crown and Swings Both Ways. Album sales were still somewhat healthy then.

Rudebox is SUCH an underrated album!

Life Thru A Lens remains my favourite by him though.

They only gave totals for top 5 so if anyone has anymore info 🤣

Music Week will most likely reveal more on Friday with exact figures.

As of January 2025, we had these totals:

2,683,271 Robbie Williams - Greatest Hits

2,624,317 Robbie Williams - I've Been Expecting You

2,459,517 Robbie Williams - Swing When You're Winning

I agree with them though: these days comparatively few artists release Greatest Hits and they don’t have particularly high opening sales.

Their success is through longevity - and actually has generally nothing to do with the album itself - generally just a measure of which artist is streaming the most.

2,624,317 Robbie Williams - I've Been Expecting You

How come I'VE BEEN EXPECTING YOU was certified 10x Platinum by BPI on 21st October 2004 for sales of 3 million?

Escapology 2.1 million

Live at Knebworth 634,197 (May 2016)

Intensive Care 1,619,894 (May 2016)

Rudebox 515,085 (May 2016)

Reality Killed the Radio Star 905,469 (May 2016)

In & Out of Consciousness 717,444 (May 2016)

Take The Crown 519,585 (May 2016)

Swings Both Ways 733,959 (May 2016)

The Heavy Entertainment Show 300,000 (rounded figure to 13/01/2017)

The Christmas Present 100,000 (rounded figure to 13/12/2019)

XXV 60,000 (rounded figure to 22/12/2022)

Better Man 45,077 (06/02/2025)

To have your first six albums do 2 million units each is a mad feat. Even though albums were at their zenith at the time, nobody’s come close to that and I doubt they will for a long while.

His greatest hits will eventually get to 3 million at some point with the way the occ count streaming.

What does the OCC have to gain from only releasing some of the sales totals?

Yes it is. My fave is I've Been Expecting You.

Does it count for this one though, or one of the others?

Commercially sensitive info?

They pick and choose when to give full sales even within the sales roundup we get each week.

I guess there's only so much they want out there for free.

Good point, I assume this one as I’m sure it was on 2.4 million prior to streaming but then again I’m not a 100%.

Who has the most 2 million+ albums? It must be super rare to have 5 or 6?

I’m pretty sure it is Robbie - I remember that back from when lists of high selling albums were commonly posted. There are not huge numbers of them, and very few people have multiple.
