11 points is ridiculously low regardless. I don't think most here are aware of the memes or whatever. (I wasn't until you mentioned!)

Before the listenthrough I hadn't really conisdered DJ Suzy to be at risk at all, but the semi was super strong and competitive and it got lost in a quiet section, which is a shame because it's quite

It’s the 15% deduction, though considering how low it is it wouldn’t have been much higher without it, but I’m not worried! And yeah idt anyone here cares about the discourse either lol, it’s just that I happened to tweet about geese once regrettably and now the algo thinks I want to see 15 tweet threads about them

Dan didn't actually give any deductions (not that there'd be much of a difference between 11 points and 13 points, deserved better regardless x)

Re: ballads, I would count Father John Misty's Screamland as an indie ballad and that won.

Also this was amazing. But yeah I vote for them fairly rarely.

When I googled Paul Mescal a couple times and now my Instagram is 70% Paul Mescal

Paul Mescal isn't even one of my interests yo

Neither is Instagram xo

Should we all just send ballads next contest so it's fair game? Anyone of us could win then!

This could be a BuzzJack Spinoff song contest.

The ultimate ballad that should’ve won.

Ballads are very hit or miss (usually miss) tbh, any time I've tried with one it's DNQ'd so I think it's a really specific type of pop power ballad, female vocalist and a really hard hitting chorus for it to have an impact but I'm also probably not the best judge when it comes to a successful BJSC ballad 😂

Sent 3 ballads ever and all 3 DNQ'd so unlikely to tread that path again.

Although tbh my current entry could easily be an instrumental accompaniment to a ballad but I think if the song actually had vocals it just wouldn't be as good.

There is a version of 'Solas' with vocals already so you can test that theory if you want!

* Bøtanikkä's mid-contest withdrawal from BJSC 180 is not counted as a DNQ for the purposes of this list

** did not enter this contest so may resume a non-consecutive streak in the future

The number of nations with double figure streaks falls by 2 as FARC and FSR Rontvia both DNQed this time after making it to every final in 2025 - the top 7 however all remain standing, with Hendinia expanding their national records to 61 consecutively and 66 non-consecutively, Danæviia, Greenfroze and Neliönoir each expanding their records to 23, 21 and 18 respectively staying in 3rd through 5th behind Aeroche, and Kluminican Republic now reaching 16 in a row for the first time (having previously managed 15 in a row both with their existing current consecutive record and with an earlier non-consecutive run in BJSCs 111-119 & 122-128). Land of DW expand their record to 9 while Zanmatony also reach 9 for the first time, having matched their previous record of 8 last month (previously done in BJSCs 141-148). Skall and Terra Avium replace FARC and FSR Rontvia in the top 10, with Terra Avium also expanding their consecutive record to 8 which now matches their non-consecutive record (previously achieved in BJSCs 112-116 & 118-120).

Outside the top 10, Mothertopia expand their record to 7, Pestolia and Herbilore match their previous records of 6 and 2 respectively (Pestolia previously getting 6 in a row in BJSCs 157-162 while Herbilore previously had back-to-back qualifiers in BJSCs 172-173 & 177-178) and Zephyra Continuum qualify for the first time on their second attempt after missing out on their debut, thus setting a new 'record' streak of 1.

Coward by Paperwing did well for me, finishing 8th

although it is an orchestral ballad

You all talk about ballads in a long ago time, like when the Turks advanced on Austria.
