Had a feeling RMI would be ahead today. Hope Bella can overtake! (scarily she would be the first person younger than me credited with a number one single 💀)

Just checked, she was born 17 days after this site's inception! 🤯

I did check earlier when she was born and Wikipedia only listed '2006' as her birth date so was thinking she may or may not be the first artist born after BuzzJack's founding to get a #1 single (if she gets there, that is of course) - but just checked again and I see a date has now been edited in!

Artists younger than me are hitting #1 pretty routinely now, probably not long before that'll be the majority (so far this year RAYE, Dave and Olivia Dean are younger than me, while Djo, Tems, Harry Styles and Sam Fender are all less than 5 years older than me, Taylor Swift being comparatively a fossil xx)

Great start for James Blake! Especially after his last (underrated) album Playing Robots into Heaven didn’t even chart. I seem to remember that being hampered by a lack of physicals in week 1, but flew under the radar a bit nevertheless.

Ah looks like it's back to the top for RMI then, can't see Bella overtaking

She’s ahead on Spotify, Apple & YouTube - I guess the edit version of RMI is still doing well and giving it some extra sales?

Would imagine a combination of that plus Amazon bias in the midweeks and a poor premium to free stream ratio compared to Sam.

It's also about the premium/ad-funded ratios I assume, given Bella was #1 on audio streaming last week.

In this chart update, 30 songs between 41 and 100 have been there for more than 6 months, some much longer! I really don't see why they cannot be removed unless showing signs of increased listening. This beneifits no one yet if removed it would allow other artists an opportunity to promote their music. In decades past they were removed.

I’ve lost count of how many versions of Rein Me In there are

Album version

Olivia Dean version on deluxe album

Olivia Dean standalone version

Now 122 version
