Yesterday at 16:391 day I had forgotten how relatively little impact BTS' previous albums had tbf - odd that they didn't release a single ahead of this new album, I'm sure they would have had a stronger showing on streaming with just one new song to focus on, but overall it seems like the years away haven't really translated into that much of an increase in interest in this album compared to the previous one. I guess the fact that the various solo members have continued to release very frequently may have made it feel like a bit less of a huge comeback lol ~Bella is on 684k today, not 647k. Still, that's a significantly smaller lead than she had over Sam's top version than this time last week (she has gone down and he has gone up) so last week might have been her peak. Sigh.
23 hours ago23 hr BTS always seemed to me to be a big social media thing that never really translated to the success you would assume would come from that. That could be down to how loud the US is on social media where they did a little better as far as non korean territories go. They have one platinum single that doesn't have Coldplay on it and have never had a UK Number One.

5 hours ago5 hr 'Rein Me In' might actually make it to #1 on the OCC's Audio Streaming or combined Streaming charts this coming week - it's spent the last 4 weeks at #2 on both, behind 'Man I Need' in the first 2 weeks of each, then Bella in the last 2 weeks on the former, and 'American Girls' followed by Bella for a week each on the latter.
5 hours ago5 hr It's taken a long time to get there but Rein Me In is clearly now in the process of becoming a gigantic hit/all-time classic level status, and not merely a really big hit.I'm hearing it way more in the last month in public, on social media etc, and just everywhere than I did in its first 30 weeks in the chart (and it's interesting that this sudden ramp up correlated with that opportunity it had to sneak a new peak when loads of other stuff went to ACR).It's fascinating to me how extremely popular songs can still find another gear to step up, and just how long it takes some songs to find their full audience. But it's had major exposure in the last few weeks - being added to radio stations that previously ignored it, winning the BRIT for Best Single, it's finally climbing the global chart now too and isn't just a UK hit, yet still has so much further to grow (it's only been top ten so far in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand). Success breeds success. I don't think it's going anywhere for a long time, even when it goes to ACR.

Given it's still increasing, I wonder if there's a chance it could ultimately overtake Man I Need for the EOY #1?
