Along with the 500 slating it daily/weekly who are equally tracking if it’s down or up 1 stream.

Yes. That would also be solved if it would just go away. x

You’ve got at least another 3 weeks of it yet until it becomes a Top 40 chart hogger like Ordinary.

I'm well aware of that thanks

I like Fleetwood Mac as much as the next person but them being THIS successful compared to other 20th century groups just feels weird!

Not really, Stevie Nicks has been grandfathered in as an influence for pretty much every major women in music artist this century (Beyonce [DC] and Miley both had hit records sampling Edge of Seventeen 20 years apart). the band itself has a such a juicy narrative it just adds to the lore.

Around the turn of the 2010s, they was a big moment in pop culture with the youth discovering them for the first time thanks to heavy usage in Glee and American Horror Story.

Can we not just criticise them anyway?

Has this not been the case all year?

No one is disputing that. It's just boring. As are the 500 posts defending it every week and closely tracking its every move for months on end.

Mind I will take 'Rein Me In' being back yet again over Taylor somehow ratfucking her way to a third week while she is so far seemingly not getting a boost at all from the film coming out (it's actually down a place to #30 on Spotify today...)

I went to see Toy Story today (it was great btw) and the song by Taylor was at the end credit and didn’t seem like it was part of the film so maybe won’t be boosted by that, who knows though, will have to wait and see.

The Chain was also heavily used in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The soundtrack went platinum in the US and UK.

Think it is number one for now. A few days ahead of Wham!

It's been #1 on that list for some time! (Only a few days ahead of Wham! though so likely to be overtaken again in December unless it has another 20-odd days at #1 before then).

Its overplayed at World Cup but its not about celebration but a cheating partner and him putting on a brave face.

Yeah thats pretty much a given since the general public defaults back to the same christmas songs in Nov/Dec 🀣

Most β€˜football’ songs have nothing to do with football or even a celebration -

Freed From Desire (anti-materialistic)

Sweet Caroline (about his wife)

Yes Sir I Can Boogie (rejecting advances)

Wonderwall (Idolized figure) etc.,
