'Billie Jean' was #1 on Global Spotify recently! But yeah it's pretty rare to see a 20th century song scaling those heights outside of the festive period.

Why is it that the daily Spotify updates have become later and later as the decade has gone on? They were usually around 11am until a few years ago, then around 2-2.30pm for a while, then 3-3.30pm until recently, now we're lucky if we get them by 5pm while conversely the charts themselves have become less interesting

I wonder if it’s due to the size of their user base now - they have 55% (average) UK market share and bigger in other countries - probably a lot of data to crunch?
