I see Paul McCartney is doing a Taylor Swift by issing a Special Digital Edition of The Boys Of Dungeon Lane with 4 bonus tracks.

But why release it on a Wednesday?

The CD version is not available until Wednesday 9th December.

  • I think Blossoms will be clear for #1. I think The Beatles will be the biggest competition, but they’re hardly going to sell signed copies if they’re behind 😂

  • The manipulation is them getting to pick and choose what week sales count to by changing shipping dates on a whim. And they have done that repeatedly.

  • Ringo is about as likely to sign CDs as John and George...

Beatles Rubber Soul is at no. 7 on iTunes costing £9.99. You might think there has been a price reduction, but this is the 2009 issue.

The 2026 mix is at no. 17 costing £10.99. However the Super Deluxe version is nowhere to be seen, not even in the Top 200 ROCK albums chart.

Rather strange.

She taught him well from performing at her wedding 🙏

Didn't her team release CDs last week with a signed booklet or something to ship for the #1 album. But the booklet ships at a different date to the CDs? lol

It'd no more chart manipulation than Blossoms slashing their digital prices , banquet signed , competitions etc etc

Definitely the same 'tactics' from two acts on the same level...

Also the biggest artist in the world shouldn't rly need any CDs to spend multiple weeks at #1 but maybe that's just me 🤐

As did Madonna/Kylie, Sam Fender/Olivia Dean and countless others - loop holes in the charts have always been taken advantage of by record labels that care enough to do so.

The Cure, Tick, The Bad Company, Nah. Horses for courses and The Led Zeppelin NEVER

I remember in the mid 2010s one of my local radio announcers thought the singer 'Foxes' was 'The Foxes' and was a band!

The Super Deluxe was charting at 6 for ages so I'm assuming iTunes has combined the sales of the standard / Super Deluxe and it's just the £9.99 one that's showing in the chart as that's selling more than the super.

I'm not sure why this happens but it's done it a few times with multiple variants on iTunes the deluxe/bonus track etc get's essentially removed and the standard one starts showing or vice-versa.

And it was manipulation when they did it too. Really not sure what your point is.

My point is it only seems to come up when Taylor’s team does it - just pointing out that’s it’s much more wide spread than that.

(Also it’s a forum, the whole point of it is to reply and discuss things so there’s that too. I can think of a few other points if needed).

i think so, the chart manipulation continues..

If I said that about Rein Me In.....

Just FYI you can't manipulate the chart when the rules are the same for everyone...

What I know that

Not sure it’s manipulation, it’s great marketing from Team Taylor tapping into her huge fanbase.

People still need to part with money and want the physical product for it to work.

When you ship as many copies as needed each week just to secure the no1 spot, it is manipulation, otherwise you`d ship them all at once.

She was the first to do it as much and she is the one that does it all the time, dont compare her with the rest..

Any other artist can do exactly the same though and have done. So how is it manipulation?

BTS release like 18 versions of the same song and have drip fed remixes / versions that let’s be honest are pointless and it’s only hardcore fans buying them.

Can this be pinned at the start of this thread every week?
