At least Cody doesn't get to complain about flopping in Bop Idol constantly.

(or maybe that's still too low for him?)

Swedish singer/songwriter Neneh Cherry made an immediate impact with the 1988 top 3 single 'Buffalo Stance'. Kong was the lead single from her fifth album, 'Broken Politics', released in 2018.

Really cool tune there from Neneh.

Think that puts me in 28th - I've yet to finish there in any song contest on Buzzjack so would take that.

Is Scene mathematically there yet...?

While Christina seems to have the contest all sewn up, there's still a battle for 2nd place between All Saints and Cher, "This Is A War", and maybe some other songs behind them.

Well, congrats to the 21CT mod Scene!

Ooh so it was Bré behind my favourite entry this time, by some considerable distance glad that's currently top 10.

Thank you for the points in return!

I am really shocked / confused to see such an outpouring of love for Christina Really disappointing winner.

That being said, congrats to @Scene who has a wonderful talent for playing out various competitions on the site and deserves the success.

Thanks for any points for Robyn, this is my highest finish so far in any of these events!

P-Model were a Japanese electronic/rock band who released their first album in 1979. They disbanded in 2000 but were revived by their frontman Susumu Hirasawa as Kaku P-Model. Shagan Daishi is a song from 2018.

1: Christina Aguilera - You Lost Me

Kinda turns out the whole of the voting sequence was actually just quite pop leaning it seems ddd. 'You Lost Me' is an ok song, not particularly exciting to me but I've never really been a fan of Xtina outside of a couple of bops, she definitely has worse. Congrats @Scene on another song contest trophy x

Wow the alt tracks didn't have a prayer in this one :')

uhsting bringing the banger <3

(I return to the alt bloc as you requested and this is how you repay me though? xo)

Lol oops I definitely peaked early! Well... maybe I can still make it 5 top 13 hits in a row across the various contests

@dhwe Thank you for sending Modest Mouse

Was really rooting for you! Fantastic choice

Oops relegated out of 28th on the final vote - not a result to remember!

Congratulations to Scene and well done Lukuzz and Spiceboy finishing in the top three.

Well done Scene, I did think this would win, it's just one of those classic ballads that it's crazy wasn't a hit!

Nice for All Saints in second too, a great song, congrats Lukuzz! And also to Spiceboy, Roba and Addy for doing so well!

This theme was always going to throw up the big names and the top ten is mostly full of them but it's fair, there were some fantastic songs in here.

Last by some distance oops, well thank you to the three voters and I will be sure not to play another singer-songwriter of that style in Bop Idol!

Thanks Rollo for hosting!

Yay a Bop Idol win!! Thanks all who voted!! ❤️❤️❤️

And thanks Rollo for running this edition. Really enjoyed this one!

Congrats Scene, quite ironic that an era so infamous for her flopping has sparked such a clear winner, wasn't for me really, but didn't mind it x

As said, I can't say the top half of that scoreboard enthuses me much, I was hoping that it wouldn't be entirely dominated by the well known names, but I guess that's not exactly surprising! 8-10 are all excellent though and nice that we got some alt representation there and a few more of my votes just below, Definitely way too low for Sweet Milk tho x

I'll take 18th gladly given this was a very pop leaning set of results, I think that makes up nicely for Orpheus & Eurydice all those years ago x Thank you all for voting, and if you liked this, I'd recommend the Myths and Legends album for a lot of very cool new age vibes x

Thanks for hosting Rollo!
