Who recruited you @ChrisJK kink

I said in the Groups section that I didn't think people who weren't competing could vote, so I hadn't been up until today.

Just thought I would join in, but if I am wrong then @Calum please don't count my votes 😀

Absolutely fine Chris, everyone's welcome to vote whether participating or not!

You're meant to keep your identity a secret rtd

1 Fontaines D.C. - Favourite: such a beautiful album closer

2 Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again: i didn’t actually know this but it’s a fab and slightly sinister track

3 New Order - Regret: a very lovely and m emotive later hit

4 Texas - Summer Son: this is pretty good and I really like the chimes

5 Sade - Kiss of Life: lovely smooth vocals as ever but not the most interesting track

6 Bananarama - I Want You Back: sounds too similar to a lot of other late ‘80s songs

I’ve put a different group top in every round so far!

1 Bananarama - I Want You Back · As I already mentioned previously, Wow is one of my favourite albums of the 80s and this is an 11/10 pop classic!

2 Texas - Summer Son · Another week, another Texas banger! They really are an incredible singles band.

3 New Order - Regret · I haven't been that enamoured by the New Order entries that were being sent previously but this one is more like it!

4 Fontaines D.C. - Favourite · Living up to its name, this is indeed one of my favourites by them!

5 Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again · They've got so many brilliant songs in their discography that I love but I'm still waiting for one of them to be sent.

6 Sade - Kiss of Life · There are a few Sade songs that I like but this one did nothing for me I'm afraid.

  1. Bananarama - I Want You Back

  2. Texas - Summer Son

  3. New Order - Regret

  4. Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again

  5. Fontaines DC - Favourite

  6. Sade - Kiss of Life

FAVE

06 Bananarama - I Want You Back

05 Texas - Summer Son

04 Fontaines D.C. - Favourite

03 New Order - Regret

02 Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again

01 Sade - Kiss of Life

LEAST FAVE

I actually kinda find the Bananarama song laughably naff in an endearing way. And yet I still can’t help but find myself bopping along to it.

Texas also absolutely fantastic - one of their best.

Fontaines and New Order I thoroughly enjoyed more than I expected to!

The latter two, not so much x

  1. Bananarama (Fave)

  2. Texas

  3. Fontaines DC

  4. New Order

  5. Depeche Mode

  6. Sade

The last two week in a row have seen my 2 ultimate favourite Bananarama songs submitted in Robert and I want you back, I'm realising from this contest just how much I love Bananarama! ❤️

Another utter classic from Texas and I love the Fontaines DC one too. the New Order and Depeche Mode ones are also decent. Sade, I'm really sorry to their mentor for putting them last again, I did really like the first two rounds but the rest hasn't really done much for me since. This isn't bad by any means but just pales against the rest.

  1. Texas - Summer Son [favourite]

  2. Bananarama - I Want You Back

  3. Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again

  4. Sade - Kiss of Life

  5. New Order - Regret

  6. Fontaines D.C. - Favourite

Oof

1 Fontaines D.C.

2 Depeche Mode

3 New Order

4 Sade

5 Texas

6 Bananarama

jump

One of the best Fontaines songs <3 otherwise not the best bunch here (perhaps the first time I think the groups are not the strongest category x), I did give the Depeche Mode song a few points in BJSC and New Order and Sade were both decent if not amazing discoveries. Never been too keen on 'Summer Son' though and the Bananarama song is pretty naff oop ~

01 Fontaines D.C. - Favourite

02 New Order - Regret

03 Texas - Summer Son

04 Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again

05 Sade - Kiss of Life

06 Bananarama - I Want You Back

01 Fontaines D.C. - Favourite (even though I don’t have a particular affinity for this band, this actual song is a song me & my boyfriend kinda have connected to one another so holds a fairly special place for me)

02 Bananarama - I Want You Back (I didn’t think I knew this from the verses but then the chorus came and it was ALWAYS on the daytime playlist at the bar I used to work at and I never knew what it was! Now I do so thanks for this!)

03 Texas - Summer Son (Texas really just rifling through the classics here! But it means another high placing for me so fair play)

04 New Order - Regret (possibly the best New Order entry yet, which feels like faint praise when I’m not placing them much higher than usual, just so happens the groups feels like it’s finally arrived for me)

05 Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again (also better than most of the songs they’ve entered so far but competition got stronger and I think this lacked the hook to take it over the edge for me)

06 Sade - Kiss of Life (I wish I could say these songs are getting more interesting for me, but they all feel much of a muchness to me at this point - pleasant but doesn’t excite me)
