2 hours ago2 hr Fontaines over 10x the sales of #2 on the albums chart Edited 2 hours ago2 hr by maggotsforbrains
2 hours ago2 hr Fontaines unsurprisingly clearing the whole first week of Romance already 👏 happy they should be back on top after stalling at #2 with that album.
1 hour ago1 hr Shame Now didn’t include Fontaines DC on 125 seeing as the albums doing well and one of the songs on there went top 20

1 hour ago1 hr Not surprised to see Ashe's album not charting, one big viral hit (and one slightly less big one 6 years ago lol) doesn't necessarily translate to people caring about her as an artist and the streaming numbers for the rest of the album clearly reflect that. How mildly amusing that we have a re-entry for an Ash album in the same week though xZach Bryan only has one top 10 album so an 8 track digital only EP being midweek #10 is a pretty great showing imo - it should hold up decently through the week so fingers crossed it can be a second top 10 album.Looks like hoping for 100k for Fontaines was a bit too optimistic but still already blown past the debut of 'Romance'.

1 hour ago1 hr Wonder if Olivia and Chappell have physicals included yet or not? Hopefully they csn make no1, Jamie has plenty of chances in future by the looks of it 🫣 so hopefully expectations can make it this week
1 hour ago1 hr Just now, Sour Candy said:Tate will get another #3 hit then it seems.I imagine it'll hold up better than 'expectations' so might yet rise to #2 at least even if it doesn't do it this week.(Heard it on the radio this morning and thought it was pretty boring but I see multiple people saying it's a grower so we'll see x)
1 hour ago1 hr Come on Jamie! Great to see Justice holding strong. I imagine Madonna and Kylie won’t end up in the top 100 this week sadly.

Why does this sort of thing have mass appeal?!I think you just answered your own question - easy-to-listen-to music like Babydoll (or Ordinary or Beautiful Things or Lose Control or etc.) is often dominant once it reaches a certain extent of market share with the general public precisely because it is found to be inoffensive and fine-enough background/idle listening music Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by maggotsforbrains
1 hour ago1 hr I was curious so looked at how many artists this decade have peaked at #1 with their very first chart hit (not necessarily their debut single):Captain Tom Moore and the NHS Voices of Care ChoirBBC Radio 1's Live Lounge AllstarsJawsh 685iann dior *Nathan Evans and Billen TedGAYLEall credited artists on We Don't Talk About BrunoLF SYSTEMEliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal070 Shake *Kenya GraceGigi PerezHUNTR/X (and the individually credited EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI and KPop Demon Hunters Cast)*denotes a secondary creditHopefully I've caught them all but it's quite an interesting list, almost all of those are from the first half of what's elapsed of the 2020s thus far. Jamie Miller would be the first in over a year if he holds on (or peaks there in the near future)!

I'm listening again and again. Can't believe it!!!
