I think it will go down a bit but should stay top ten, it's incredible that after such a long career he can still pull out top ten hits every year or two I don't think he will fall out of the top 5. He sold 8K copies of the single just for a day. Both songs that are currently ahead of his single were previously released (at least on downloads) so they have the advantage of the Sunday's sale. However IF he continues to sell at this rate he might even climb. 8k just for a day means he could easily reach 25K by the end of the week which will secure him at least a top 5 finish IMO. Of course there is a chance that his daily sales decrease significantly throughout the week. Tomorrow's update should be interesting.

September 9, 200817 yr Sonny J not Top40?! :o I expected Top10, after all the Radio1 support. Could be 38,39 or 40 as we only have a top 37 at the moment - And i thought it'd be top 20 so am quite suprised too. I guess Black and Gold has risen due to the X Fator? :unsure: :rolleyes:

Aside from that, no major shocks (aside from Sonny J potentially failing to just climb 5 places on physical release into the top 40!). Would be interesting to know just HOW badly Little Man Tate and the Zutons flopped!

And it has been released as a import. There must be another new entry in the top 40, I think Sonny J is slotted between 38-40, unless Automatic, Ting Tings and Rihanna are filling those positions, considering Automatic was falling heavily last week it could be the casualty track that's fallen out of the top 40. But don't quote me on it, its just my rough assessment, of what's in and out.

It was about 9 months after downloads came into play. He could have had a number one already by now!

September 9, 200817 yr Hopefully by the end of the week it will be Glasvegas #1 in the albums and Kings of Leon #1 in singles. Glad they're both doing really well. I don't think Sex on Fire will get to #1 this week but I don't think next week is off the cards yet :dance: I think it would be the best #1 ever, if it did get there!

September 9, 200817 yr I think Katy will just about hold out against Kings Of Leon, given that indie bands never seem to translate high iTunes positions into actual chart positions e.g. Coldplay (violet hill 1-8 even viva la vida only sold 23k that’s less than Rihanna did at no4 last week). Sex On Fire sounds kinda like some bizarre cross between Meatloaf and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers astonished its doing so well!
