Gagas song is just NOT #1 worthy in any way shape or form lol. The quality is every bit as poor as American Life by Madonna- which was in a similar place- huge star, 1st single, lots of momentum I think was actually in the lead most of the week, than lost at it by Sunday (by a song that was already #1 for 3 or 4 weeks) lol. The ONLY reason BTW will get #1 is simply because of who is it is and thats just wrong.

To be honest, I would rather see Jessie J get a third week at number 1 than Gaga getting it. Born This Way does nothing for me, which is a shame since I adored everything from The Fame Monster so this was a bit of a let down. I'm not even that big a fan of Price Tag (much prefer Do It Like A Dude), I just want to see another 4+ week number 1 and I think that is our best bet. There are far too many 1 or 2 week number 1's IMO.

I agree. Her first album was 1992!, and she's still going strong. Her best position was number 3 with 'Rid of me' in 1993

I know 9k is a bit of a stretch, but I still think Jessie J is going to re-take #1 by the end of the week, Gaga's sales are going to trail off, a lot of people know its in the public domain now, I think the buzz around the track is going to wane off a bit, no video, no promo, eveything is in Jessie's favour at the moment, and her album is out next week. And who is going to stay up all night to watch the grammys. ^_^

Wow at You Me At Six, finally some singles success. But this one's actually deserved, easily their best single imo after they replaced the screamo with actually enjoyable proper singing.

SCORE at them already being #8 though. Should be a bit higher when combined, which will give them a nice cushion which should keep them in the top 10 come Sunday provided they don't start to drop on iTunes.

Again, lots of people already know Jessie J has the prize- Ellie Goulding didn't get much of a boost after winning last year, I can't see Jessie getting a huge boost just due to that- Jessie will need to overtake within the next day if she is in with a chance

 

that said, I can see her climbing back next week for a week as it is a really dead week

 

and great for YM@6 its climbing slightly on itunes now- so maybe it can go top 10 this week :D

I think this year Jessie will get a boost. Jessie's proflie is so much bigger than Ellie's was when she won. I am a massive fan of Lady Ga Ga but I would rather Jessie stayed at number 1. I don't like Born This Way, no matter how much I want to :cry:. I quite like Price tag now, I will download it I think.

Both of them are likely higher as they have second 'versions' in the top 40 mids (which are just physical sales yet to be added). JLS are almost certainly #3 as it says Chipmunk & Chris are only a few hundred ahead of JLS.

Don't jinx GaGa's lead!! She's coming for that 5th #1 and I'm backing her all the way. Her iTunes lead has stabilised now at around 1.46x so I think she'll make it unless Jessie J performs tonight.

Yeah. They did the same to S&M like 6 weeks ago aswell. :( Although the Glee Cast songs are decent this week.

 

I always wondered, if S&M did make top 40 that week, do you reckon they would've censored it like that? I think the video controversy made Radio 1 think they had to censor it to prevent complaints. Also, since the release of S&M was SO far away at the time (it's released in April, and we're talking about January), they might not've thought to prepare a radio edit for it so early.

I hope kylie and taio cruz can hold #11 or higher, there is alot of confusion over a phyisical coming out which they need to clear up as im sure some of the fans are holding back purchaisng the download until they know whats happening with the phyisical release( well that whats im doing anyhow)
