Maybe not but 'Children' sold far more in total. Iirc, it was one of the top 10 biggest selling singles of 1996 - outselling such gems as 'I Feel You' by Peter Andre. :manson:

Peter Andre has alot to answer for - he knocked the Spice Girls off (as it were :kink:) the top after 7 weeks of Wannabe :(

its been lowered to 59p on itunes- hopefully it will scrape the top 40 :D

It saddens me to think songs like 'Dirtee Disco' and 'Once' peaked above 'Children' :(

it outsold both of them though :D

Best of the retro

...but The Fugees 'Ready Or Not' also outsold 'Wannabe' knocking Spice Girls down 01-03 that week. At least The Fugees climbed to #1 the following week. Just a shame they didn't get three consecutive weeks at #1 instead. I blame Smash Hits for the success of Peter Andre. <_<

phew I'm not alone with the whole Justin B. thing. And I do love Die Another Day

If i wasn't 4 I would've shot him then!!!!

It was replaced by the sound of "sshhhh" like in 'Forget You!' by Cee Lo Green "ain't that some ssshhh" :D

And don't forget Birthday Shhhh by Jeremih :D

I didn't appreciate 'Die Another Day' until a couple of years ago actually. In fact, when it was originally released I hated it. But it really hasn't aged badly at all. I think it'd be a hit now had it been the soundtrack for the most recent Bond film or something...

Thanks :D

DLBIA deserved #1 though and HDIYL didn't

As far as I remember DLBIA kept on getting put back for release because Wonderwall kept yo-yoing up and down the top 10 for ages!

And don't forget Birthday Shhhh by Jeremih :D

Birthday Shhhhex? :kink:

It'd probably do a lot better than recent Bond theme tunes. They're not as big of hits as they used to be... but then again some of the songs are down right awful like that Jack White/Alicia Keys song.. EW!

I hate that No Tomorrow will always have that reputation as the lowest selling no.1 ever. Its a great song and you can see from its overall sales and chart run that it wasn't a flop no.1 like many we've seen in the past year.

I thought that too initially but grew to love it after seeing the film itself. Same thing happened with Take That's RTW after seeing Stardust.
