January 10, 201214 yr This pretty rubbish for those of you who subscribe. But perhaps the chart might get more exciting if we don't know the mids everyday?
January 10, 201214 yr Thought these new owners would restrict things....does anyone know when the first new edition of MW for 2012 is on sale...is it this Wednesday? The magazine is now available to buy from a Thursday. The first issue of 2012 appeared last week, dated Friday January 6th.
January 10, 201214 yr They will go out of business as members will ditch their subs, another possibility is clubbing together with just one account and somehow the costs will spread thinly for some MW subscribers, so you are not paying the full whack yourself. That won't work if they limit the number of different devices that can be used to log in to a single account.
January 10, 201214 yr Music week Columbia albums drop to just £3.95 on iTunes 15:38 | Tuesday January 10, 2012 Albums released in 2011 by Sony imprint Columbia have been discounted on iTunes to just £3.95 – backed by TV advertising during the weekend's live FA Cup football coverage. Recent LPs from the likes of Miles Kane, Foo Fighters, Ryan Adams and Matt Cardle all bear the new price, alongside The Vaccines' What Did You Expect from The Vaccines? The latter jumped from No.33 to No.16 on Sunday's Official Albums Chart. The discounting only seems to be applied to the standard editions of each album. The campaign was advertised on national UK TV over the weekend during FA cup third-round games – which included the Manchester derby between Man City and Man Utd.
January 10, 201214 yr sad to see this news :( it seems a bit pointless on a Wednesday because Radio 1 already broadcast the top 40 by then, oh well, at least we're getting mids! Edited January 10, 201214 yr by C.W
January 10, 201214 yr This is really sad. Does this mean the deadline of the prediction games will be moved back to Wednesday morning by any chance? I really hope MW don't go so low that we don't get sales - no mids on Tues and Thu really is a bad sign
January 10, 201214 yr I can't see the point in keeping my MW account just for one day of mids (Fridays) when they are available on Radio 1 on Weds, in full top 40 form and the top 75 charts on Sundays, where on the OCC site they publish the full top 100 instead of a top 75. The only sticky problem is the sales info on Mondays. And the YTDs singles and albums have not been published this week, which has probably affected them, which puts vidcapper up the shit creek regarding his YTD topics, pardon the expression. Well not really, as the YTD lists are the same as the weekly ones, this week... :P

If it isn't then I will probably move the deadline.
January 10, 201214 yr MW have been in financial trouble for some time. When it changed ownership last year they said that they might have gone out of business otherwise. Well, when they keep screwing their subscribers, WTF do they expect?
January 10, 201214 yr Author Well not really, as the YTD lists are the same as the weekly ones, this week... :P I was thinking further down the line, this week its fairly obvious. ---- On a different note is anyone else having problems with the site, as every time I post something the panel on the left is missing with all the smilies  And I can't bold anything with the above functions are not working properly
January 10, 201214 yr Well, when they keep screwing their subscribers, WTF do they expect? I guess if they do so, it's to cut their charges (and probably someone's job) :( But I agree I don't think it's the right thing to do in the end, since it will most probably lead to a lot of people cancelling their subscriptions. Booo, it's a sad day for chart lovers ! On a upper side (if we have to find one...), it means it will bring more suspence back in the charts ! Edited January 10, 201214 yr by Hayzayy
January 10, 201214 yr And I can't bold anything with the above functions are not working properly  You just type at the start and at the end, very simple :P Edited January 10, 201214 yr by Bré
January 10, 201214 yr No more Tuesday Midweeks. Chart team AGOG. Nooooooooooooooooooo! What are we gonna do!! :o Gutted about this to be honest :( Edited January 10, 201214 yr by torresgirl
January 10, 201214 yr Author Nooooooooooooooooooo! What are we gonna do!! :o Gutted about this to be honest :( Take up knitting I suppose :P
January 10, 201214 yr So if there are no more Music Week midweeks why can't we just play on the title of this thread and post our own "predictions"? Sure it won't be accurate but at least it's a good indicator of how the midweeks are likely to look. With physical cd singles sales barely making up 1% of all music sales (most weeks) the iTunes combined Kworb chart is virtually the new Midweeks. :D
January 10, 201214 yr Oh no! Mass forum suicide! :drama: That's what I thought when I read the news
