Really liking this non-generic side to Rihanna, although I would be surprised if the third single wasn't a dance song.

Hope Stay has a long chart run, but I can see Rihanna not even making a video for it and moving on to something else for a worldwide release by the end of Jan.

It's not the Emeli Sande sales figures that will cause concern - it's an almost year-old album after all. It's the disappointing totals of the "competition".

Oh, thank God! Thought she was going to top 200k. Still getting the highest sales week of the year but not that far ahead of Mumford & Sons at all. Really pleased it looks like they've kept the 2nd highest (unless Olly has done 160k+ which is unlikely).

 

 

I like Ekko's voice. This song is pretty good. Prefer Diamonds, but then again, I'm not a ballad person anyway.

I didn't say that. It is relative - xmas sales are usually higher than this, as were the sales in the summer.

Congratulations to Emeli Sande for spending a sixth non-consecutive week at #1 - and with her highest weekly sales yet (10 months after release!). Unless "Clown" gets picked up by radio stations in the new year, I can't see Sande dominating anything but the albums chart for the time being. Saying that, "Beneath Your Beautiful" is still going strong at #11 (after 9 weeks in the T40), and "Read All About It, Pt. III' is sure to re-enter the lower end of the chart next week.

 

Will be interesting to see whether Sande, Murs, Mars, Rihanna or One Direction claim the last #1 album of the year though. Depending on the difference in sales between Sande and Murs, I'd say 'Our Version of Events' can squeeze in another week at #1 before 2013.

She might not do a video for Stay. In the US, Pour It Up, Loveeeeeee Song and Nobodies Business have all got considerable airplay (for album tracks), so one of those might have to be chosen as the single, and she'll probably only do a video for what the single in the US is.
