Hi all! Will certainly be an interesting chart show today. I'm not going to bother preparing any chart runs for the recaps again so as with Blackstreet a couple of weeks ago I'm kind of hoping R. Kelly doesn't make the top 40 now :P
4- CLIMAX- Usher (41,617) Can't believe this wasn't bigger, effortlessly cool, way better than the generic Scream

While I admit 'Climax' is pretty good, I absolutely LOVED 'Scream'. It's generic as hell but the last chorus is amazing when you've got your earphones up full blast. I still hammer it to death.

Good afternoon Buzzjackers. It's really nice and sunny where I am at the moment. Just enjoyed a barbecue.

Hi all, looks like Summer has come early, nice T-Shirt weather :D

I liked this week last year with Boyfriend, Climax and Level Up all debuting in the top 10.

Madonna and Mariah Carey both in the top 5 in 2008! I'd be surprised to see them even in the top 40 together now.

Howdy, disco citizens.

I will be somewhat disappointed if this week's thread isn't busier than the week The Saturdays went #1. There hasn't been this much attention payed to the charts since The Battle of Britpop of 1995.

I don't think that Fandango will have held on to the top 40 given how much it dropped on Friday/Saturday, and likewise I don't think that Notsensibles will have done enough to make the top 40 this week. I wonder if these two make the charts will they talk to either Fandango or Mr Notsensible (presuming they are even allowed to play the latter).

Howdy, disco citizens.

I would say the Rage Against the Machine vs. X Factor battle of 2009 got more media attention than today's battle.

Or at least the Joe McElderry/Rage Against The Machine "battle"

Edit - beaten to it by Thermometer!

I'm not sure I agree with this, I don't recall hearing anywhere near as much about RATM/Joe on the news as I have about 'Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead'. It certainly is the first time since then that a chart show has been big news though regardless of the relative amount of 'media attention' :P

Haven't listened to the chart show for AGES! I'm hear hear with you today too! :D At least I'll listen what's up in the charts as of today's climate.
I'm personally looking forward to how R1 are going to deal with today's situation. Will Jameela mention Ding Dong in the chart contenders? How many complaints will they get over playing a short clip of the song? Hopefully not too many as I think R1 have done the best that they can possibly do. It's a lose-lose situation and whatever they did they would've got disagreement.

I was wondering if we would get it in 'contenders' as well!

I think Ding Dong will be number 2 today.

Who's Jameela by the way? New host? And Reggie has gone? It should surely cause a Buzzjack uproar when that happened! :P
