Fair question, steps. Does anyone know the closest Sash actually got to number 1? (I would guess Encore Une Fois?).

I havent checked all yet, but so far Ecuador was sorta close:

1- I’LL BE MISSING YOU- Puff Daddy & Faith Evans (156,000)

2- ECUADOR- Sash! (130,000)

Woah, Ecuador was a bigger seller than I remembered :D

Hi everyone, bit tired

But I got my first tattoo this week

Maybe :P

As much as I would LOVE to see Miley Cyrus go in at #1 with a frankly earth-shatteringly serious and thought provoking song such as "We Can't Stop" I'm hearing from the OCC that "Elevate" by St. Lucia is shockingly likely to go in at #1 through sales of 7" vinyl and CD singles that were bought up by crazed fans in the London Borough of Hounslow.

I do like me some Placebo. Pure Morning is a exceptional track.

La Primavera - super close to #2, but not #1.

Stay - is there even a point checking? Candle In The Wind was #1 at the time

so now I need to check Encore Une Fois and Adelante.

5 new entries in the 40.

I'm assuming One Republic and Drake have not charted.

And Birdy must be short of the top 40 too?

2003

4- FOUR MINUTE WARNING- Mark Owen (24,500) Brill pop song, and a surprising top five considering it was six years since his previous big hit and Take That were still a memory of the 90s

Surely not that surprising a hit; it was off the back of his Celebrity Big Brother 2 win

Adelante - Probably Sash's most forgotten Number 2 hit. Don't know why I think it's brilliant, but it's not very commercial or radio friendly I suppose!

Album Discussion Here

'Black Skinhead' is growing on me a bit. All his singles from the last album were better though IMO. Especially 'Power' and 'Runaway'.

5 weeks top 40 for Kanye *.* Amazed at how well he's still holding up even after R1 dropped him from their playlist, though still expecting a sudden plummet any week now.

I haven't prepared for new entries for the recaps this week so hopefully nothing will sneak up on me as I wing it.

Oh, couldn't have started the chart with a worse song...

The Daft Punk production of this totally passed me by.

Good to see the love for Placebo :D

Adelante - Probably Sash's most forgotten Number 2 hit. Don't know why I think it's brilliant, but it's not very commercial or radio friendly I suppose!

Yeah its pretty good, the video was banned on MTV apparently.

Encore Une Fois wasnt close, just checked. Ecuador was by far his best first week sales. No idea how much Adelante was from #1, couldnt find sales for it.
