I think I'm Yours is for the #11.

I'd honestly be interested for every position in the top 200. I suspect most of the ones lower down would be from the past few years. And it would also be interesting to know the best-selling song that never charted (I think there was a thread on that a while ago).

Come to think of it, I wonder what the highest-selling album track is that was never promoted as a single of any kind.

I think 'How Do I Live' is definitely the highest-selling #7 as DB said, #9 I would've guessed 'Video Games' if I wasn't told about 'Blue Monday'. 'Superbass' and '212' sold really well for a #8 and #12 respectively, no? And 'Pumped Up Kicks' has to be the highest-selling song of it's chart position too.

At the time (I'm sure I'm Yours, Set Fire To The Rain and others will have overtaken) 5, 6, 7, 8 by Steps was the biggest selling song of all time that didn't make the top 10 and that was why they made more music, initially they were intended to be a one hit wonder.

'Blue Monday' isn't a #9, even if it did sell over a million before the remix got to #3 (which I don't think it did but I may be wrong) it is still a #3 hit, just as Elbow's 'One Day Like This' is no longer the biggest selling #35 even if it was before the Olympics as the Olympics turned it into a #4 hit. :P

What a ridiculous idea to set up a band with the intention of them being a one hit wonder

Well they were never set up for that but only given a 1 single deal so the record company was not tied into an expensive deal with a flop act on their hands had '5,6,7,8' not taken off.

Given the remix was titled "Blue Monday 1988" and was a remix of the song by Quincy Jones and John Potoke, it could (rightly) be argued that the original was a #9. Though the sales have probably been combined, it is likely it has still sold over a million taking out the sales of the '88 and '95 remixes.

Yeah I remember that. Before I followed the charts, I thought '5,6,7,8' would've definitely been a top 3 hit and most probably a #1.

I think 'Amazed' by Lonestar was at the time the highest-selling single to miss the top 20 but I'm sure the likes of 'Gold Dust' (and maybe 'Dirty Talk' unless I'm completely overestimating its sales) would've overtaken it now.

Leona Lewis "Run" to #162. It's been rising quite a bit! Hope it can keep rising.

345. Sara Bareilles - Brave

This is the highest I've seen this on iTunes, I wonder if it could end up reaching the top 200 officially?

I hope so! It'd make it her second highest charting single already if it did...

No, it's between I'm Yours and Rain Fire
They peaked at #11, so they aren't relevant to either one of the two posts above yours :P

Ooh and wonderful for Sara

I think Mr Brightside could be the best selling #10 hit.

I hope so! It peaked far too low but I can't think of a bigger number 10 hit!

Ahh, non-top 20 hit, ever mind :P

 29 Imagine Dragons - It's Time

 48 Rudimental feat. John Newman - Feel The Love (also #90)

 49 Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

 50 Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles

 74 Keane - Somewhere Only We Know

 85 Birdy - Skinny Love

Genuinely shocked this is doing so well!

Looks like Feel the Love could re-enter the top 40 yet again!

No! Doesn't matter how good a song it is, I'm sick of older songs clogging up the charts!
