October 19, 201311 yr Shelley been turned in to the joke act then.. didn't think she had the swag of Rylan. Are people genuinely surprised about Kingsland Road? Wasn't a great song choice first off. Secondly the boyband market is already saturated, and they're not picking up the young girl/granny vote. Going nearly first didn't help but I've seen some people think they could genuinely win.. if One Direction couldn't do it then no boyband ever will.
October 19, 201311 yr Queen Shelley <3 I wasn't MASSIVELY shocked at Kingsland Road, but I thought they'd end up in the bottom 2 tomorrow, not tonight. Still, I agree that they don't quite fit the bill for boybands really - they kind of get the Olly Murs fangirls but they have nowhere near the charisma/sex appeal/voice he does - and they kind of straddle a few different voting camps so maybe they don't fully appeal to any.

October 20, 201311 yr Sam B | 'Make You Feel My Love': Very, VERY safe performance this week and in all honesty the only version I truly appreciate is Lea Michelle's version. Completely wrong for her! 05.0 --- Kingsland Road | 'Marry You': I don't like it when groups sing the whole song all together... it kind of defeats the purpose of being a group and it can turn the song into sounding like one, long verse. The harmonies were nice enough, but overall a weak performance. 04.0 --- Nicholas McDonald | 'She's The One': I don't get the hate for him on here. Vocally he IS the strongest male in the contest this year, yeah he's a bit of a damp squid and chooses the most boring and uninspired song choices, but he manages to deliver. I like him. 06.0 --- Abi Alton | 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head': One of the most awkward "performances" I think I've ever seen on the show. I agree with Nicole though, it WAS better than the original, but then again, that's REALLY not saying much... *vomit* 03.0 --- Shelley | 'Single Ladies': Vocally it was decent and she does more singing than Beyonce ever does whenever she performs this live, but performance wise... I dunno. It just didn't excite me as much as it should. Even with the whole tongue-in-cheek praise for this, it was all predictable (bar the beginning, which I actually quite liked lol) and rather "meh". 06.0 --- Sam C | 'I Won't Give Up': I liked this more than I perhaps should have. The beginning was indeed dodgy and ropey at times, but as soon as he started the first chorus, I thought it was decent, vocally. Performance was very dull though! 05.5 --- Tamera | 'Beneath Your Beautiful': First time I think I've completely agreed with Gary when he said that it was like one of the guest performers on the Sunday night as opposed to a contestant performance on a Saturday night. She IS the star of this year. So I'm fully expecting her to be the "shock exit" in week 5 this year. 10.0 --- Luke Friend | 'Let Her Go': It really wasn't as different to the original as the panel or Luke himself made it out to be. It was just a boring karaoke version of the song. Boring. 03.0 --- Rough Copy | 'I Want It That Way': Nowhere NEAR as good as last week for them, but it was still solid enough, I guess. I just can't stand them (same with Kingsland Road really). 06.0 --- Hannah | 'Beautiful': This is the most overrated contestant of the show for me this year. She CAN be decent, but this performance I found it to be quite monotonous and boring. Even when she was "going for it" and bending her knees or whatever, I couldn't tell much of a difference. Completely average to me. Sorryyyyy! 05.0 Pretty uneventful week, but I tend to find that this theme always is. They should just completely do away with this as a theme.
October 20, 201311 yr My late comments that no1curr about: Sam Bailey "Make You Feel My Love" She has a really good voice, perfect for this song. And the production wasn't too big like last week (however that performance was good too) 8.0 Kingsland Road "Marry You" Not liking this at all. I hope they don't go far, I see no reason why they should - there are so many boybands like them at the moment. 4.0 Nicholas McDonald "She's The One" Boring song choice, but he has a nice voice. 7.0 Abi Alton "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" I think this is the wrong song for her. She took the life out of the song, and her pronunciation of "can't" is just cringeworthy. 6.0 Shelley Smith "Single Ladies" Her voice wasn't very good tonight, and she didn't pull off the whole 'novelty act' thing very well imo. 6.0 Sam Callahan "I Won't Give Up Urggh not this song again. :banghead: And it's a note-for-note cover of it too, no originality - and his voice isn't that strong, it did get better towards the end though (but the last few notes completely ruined that though) 6.5 Tamera Foster "Beneath Your Beautiful" Nu Leona Lewis, better than the original etc. Tamera FTW. 9.0 Luke Friend "Let Her Go" Loving the song choice (Let Her Go to pass 1 million this year hopefully). He has a nice voice too. 7.5 Rough Copy "I Want It That Way" If one boyband is going to do well from this season, it'll be these guys. They can actually sing and harmonise well. 8.0 Hannah Barrett "Beautiful" Her voice was powerful and emotional, she's going to go far in this. October 20, 201311 yr Author There's no denying 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' is one of Kylie's most overrated songs, and definitely not among her best, but to say that Abi's version was better than the original when she could hardly sing it as it was meant to be sung is just completely ludicrous! :lol:
