Sam Bailey sold a little over 6k of her CD single up to the end of Tuesday (i.e. in time for Wednesday's midweek). Its release date was meant to be Wednesday, but some retailers put it on sale in advance of the intended release.

I know one HMV sold 1k of it on Monday/Tuesday. So based on that, I think the physical will fly off the shelves.

I think it definitely will on Saturday, if there's enough stock.

Ouch at Sam, not even 100k yet, James must have been over 300k at this stage.

Hopefully Thermo will do his daily post in a mo :heehee:

Wow those CD singles are really flying off the shelves*

*Because of the wind.

the CD's are flying off the shelves so much THEY'VE become skyscrapers!!1

What an underwhelming christmas charts.

I miss the days my ladies shifted 429,000 copies of a post-album single with the best Christmas number one everrr!

Any idea of the breakdown of CDs vs. downloads for Sam Bailey?
How on earth did one branch of HMV sell 1k of Sam's physicals in a DAY? I can't imagine that her physicals so far amount to much more than 15k so taking into account the 142 branches and the fact that supermarkets will be stocking it too, the other stores are selling it at a rate of about 75-90 copies per day. Was the store reported to have sold 1k of it perhaps in her home town?

Something tells me the physicals could not have been added, opened up with 45k, a further 22,4k for Tues, + 19,3k for Weds, unless her physicals are really that low.

Thursday Mid Sales - X Factor winners

86,700 Sam Bailey "Skyscraper"

>80,000 Little Mix "Cannonball" (80k ahead of the #2)

115,100 Leon Jackson "When You Believe"

216,795 Joe McElderry "The Climb"

245,000 Matt Cardle "When We Collide"

289,200 Alexandra Burke "Hallelujah"

<360,000 Leona Lewis "A Moment Like This" (sales figure taken from Friday update)

<378,935 James Arthur "Impossible" (sales figure taken from Friday update)

So yeah, Sam definitely doing a lot worse than everyone else. 200k doesn't seem possible now, will it even outsell 150k is the question?

Probably about 22 CDs sold looking at those figures! Maybe they've not been added. I don't know the midweeks usually have a % digital column so Martin might be able to help.

Our HMV definitely sold about 700 - 900 copies on Monday. I posted the exact figure on the iTunes thread I think. I can remember it because I searched it specifically and took a note of the figures on my phone as I was finishing the shift. There aren't alot of HMV's left because of their financial situation so there's not much places to really get the physical. The sales were really frontloaded anyway because lunch time yesterday I checked the computer and we'd only sold about 30 in that day (from 10am - 1:30pm).
This week's Top 10 is looking LAUGHABLY BAD...

Some cities still have multiple HMV's though and I can't remeber the last time I went to a largish town that didn't have one... Wasn't it most duplicate stores that were culled? (I guess you work there so would have more info than me lol)

I find the figure of 700-900 in one HMV in one day pretty hard to believe -- maybe nation-wide?

Even in London's flagship store in Oxford St. I only saw about 50 copies of the One Direction single in stock and that was also definitely not flying off the shelves.

Any word on kelly's battle for the top 40 (No, I don't mean R Kelly)
