September 3, 201412 yr A crushing reminder to record companies that waiting for a 'quiet week' to try and bag a number one still won't always guarantee you the top spot. Still...I can't say I expected The Script to potentially be the ones blocking Duke's shot at No.1!
September 3, 201412 yr Upsetting Duke's best single is looking like it could possibly peak at #3. Would have managed #2 last week as well, if it hadn't been pushed back :(
September 3, 201412 yr That was Loleatta Holloway who sang Ride on Time actually. It was sampled from her, but IIRC after they got into legal trouble they had to replace it with a soundalike: either Martha Wash or Heather Small, depending on whom you believe.
September 3, 201412 yr Hopefully now The Script are beginning a fast descent down iTunes that can put them firmly out of the running.
September 3, 201412 yr No sign of Rather Be :( or Let It Go :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: :yahoo:
September 3, 201412 yr "Prayer In C" has number 1 in the bag; I can't say I feel at all sorry for Duke Dumont/MoS - how about not delaying your single release at the last minute. SWEET justice. Edited September 3, 201412 yr by Doctor Blind
September 3, 201412 yr I just really hope The Script don't get there - as much as I hated it, Hall of Fame was somewhat memorable, this would be a contender for the most forgettable number 1 of the decade. Edited September 3, 201412 yr by Chez Wombat

Won't Look Back is on Virgin. (finally a label other than MoS totally screws up a dance release!) Point still stands though. Lilly Wood for #1!
September 4, 201412 yr Duke is still 10k ahead of everyone's 'got No1 in the bag' Lilly so I'm not sure what we will end up with. Anyway funny that everyone's saying that streaming slows the chart down - there's quite large drops for a lot of songs in the kids - Fancy is heading out of the chart relatively quickly considering how long it lingered between 20-25!
September 4, 201412 yr Yes, usually new hits -> old hits drop That's not going to change Except in Happy's case but that song is an exception in many ways.
September 4, 201412 yr Come on Katy! :( Go top 30 at least please. I don't get how it's so low? Fairly high on iTunes (+ the second version - if that's even still doing anything), streaming is picking up and at a reasonable place... Ugh.
September 4, 201412 yr Fancy is heading out of the chart relatively quickly considering how long it lingered between 20-25! It often climbs a fair bit from the midweeks so it wouldn't surprise me to see it back in the top 40 or even top 35 by Sunday.
September 4, 201412 yr It often climbs a fair bit from the midweeks so it wouldn't surprise me to see it back in the top 40 or even top 35 by Sunday. It's actually currently at 40 so should be 35 or so by Sunday!
September 4, 201412 yr It's actually currently at 40 so should be 35 or so by Sunday! Oh good :kink: Fancy is always the highlight of the chart for me so don't want it to drop out :D
September 4, 201412 yr I'm surprised it's been such a massive hit as it is - released at the very start of April and still top 40 in September :0
September 4, 201412 yr I'm surprised it's been such a massive hit as it is - released at the very start of April and still top 40 in September :0 I'd never have expected that had someone told me that at the time  I guess it's been helped hugely by it being such a huge hit in America. Very happy for Iggy to have finally broken through though, was starting to think it'd never happen!
