June 9, 20187 yr Ah wow, amazing! Hopefully not too far behind Jorja, would be amazing if she got a fourth #01 album and shut down Piers Morgan.

June 10, 20187 yr She said on Twitter she's number 2 in the midweeks behind Jorja Smith ! That's great if true ! Jorja #1 and Lily #2 would be the perfect result this week but I fear both will drop down by Friday :s
June 10, 20187 yr Just streamed the album and have now purchased - wasn’t expecting to like it at all despite being a Lily stan previously but I LOVE it, such a great album. So pleased to see she is at #2 in the mids - it could drop but was literally expecting a 8-92 run for this album as there has been hardly any build up or hype. Edited June 11, 20187 yr by ___∆___
June 11, 20187 yr This is a brilliant album and a natural progression from INMIY both sonically and lyrically. It is so deeply personal and self-scathing. Very impressed - I didn't think i'd be here for it after Sheezus :')
June 11, 20187 yr Very impressed - I didn't think i'd be here for it after Sheezus :') Same! I was like Lily who? after Sheezus but totally loving this album and the change of style.
June 12, 20187 yr Yeah, I really want to like the album after reading about its background, but the music just isn't working for me and no amount of understanding the place she's coming from is going to make it appeal to me. :( lol changed my mind already lol The album really works as a full package. As blacksquare put it, it's a really brutal listen, 'Three' and 'Family Man' are particularly devastating. 'Come On Then', 'Apples' and 'Everything to Feel Something' are also highlights and 'Trigger Bang' has finally clicked properly. Definitely going to buy the vinyl when I have the money. I enjoy a fair amount of Sheezus and I don't think there's even any bad songs on there, but listening to the two albums back to back, it's easy to see where the criticisms of Sheezus come from. She's good at the wit and irony and social commentary but there's not a lot of heart; that only really comes through on 'Take My Place' but then that's followed up by a song like 'As Long As I Got You'??? No Shame definitely restores the balance and is much more in line with the Lily present on her first two albums.
June 12, 20187 yr haven't been that interested in lily in a long time & just happened to be casually listening to radio 1 - heard 'lost my mind' + it's by far my favourite thing she's ever done.
June 12, 20187 yr This is a brilliant album and a natural progression from INMIY both sonically and lyrically. It is so deeply personal and self-scathing. Very impressed - I didn't think i'd be here for it after Sheezus :')All of this! I'm really impressed by this album. 'Sheezus' really turned me off of her in a huge way, but I think this album may have brought me back
June 12, 20187 yr 'Family Man' is my favourite from the album. It moves me to tears every time I hear it. Just devastating.
June 13, 20187 yr It really reminds me of Ghosts in that it's a truly fantastic body of work where the sum of it's parts is greater than the individual pieces. It's a borderline masterpiece. I'm really so happy to have this Lily back. It's clear to see how she spawned an entire genre of copycats after Alright, Still.
June 15, 20187 yr Really hope this has managed to hang on to the #5 midweek position officially - the drop next Week is going to be huge though I’d imagine :nocheer:
June 21, 20187 yr Probably the album of the year for me so far. I actually liked Sheezus for what it was, but this just proves how much more she’s capable of. The true follow up to It’s Not Me, It’s You
September 21, 20186 yr _o7EsUTVoBs vWipLLZjS94 32U0eW-l_sk That performance of 'Family Man'! I adore that song... three months down the line and it still gets me right in the feels. Loving the Lykke Li cover too.
September 21, 20186 yr Just listened to this and find it really good, much better than 'Sheezus', but still not on the level of her first 2 albums, but definitely a step in the right direction, my faves at the moment are 'Come On Then', 'Higher', 'Pushing Up Daises', 'Trigger Bang', 'Lost My Mind', 'Cake' & 'Family Man'. Its a shame that this album isn't doing better and not getting the support she's had for her previous efforts, I think the bad choices with 'Sheezus' really damaged her career and radio and streaming's not given her a chance to succeed anymore, which is such a shame as she's a fantastic artist and one of the few to have some personality out there. Not to say that 'Sheezus' was terrible, just not all that great and the bad single choices didn't help 'Air Balloon' [sERIOUSLY WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS ANY GOOD], 'Our Time' [Dull] & 'As Long As I Got You' [Forgettable]. There were much better songs than these and did enjoy 'Hard Out There' & 'URL Badman' (they both deserved better handling, especially the latter which should have been released sooner), but her label chose to be stupid and didn't release decent songs like 'Insincerely Yours', 'Silver Spoon' or even the title track which Lily herself wanted to be released. I think the era would have been a hell of a lot better with these choices instead of the awful ones that were picked.
