September 12, 20169 yr Those sales give Lady Gaga a chance of top 10 debut. With James Arthur increasing on itunes i would think he is safe to achieve a top 40 hit for himself this week. With Olly Murs number 13 it looks safe for him to bag another week in the top 20. Ouch at Busted, number 94 so it will end up a huge flop as i suspect it will fall as the week progresses. I welcome the album sales this week, i would rather have seen Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at number 1 or Meatloaf above Bastille but all 3 now look on track to sell reasonably well. What a huge fall for Sophie Ellis Bextor, down to number 74, i did not expect this at all. Britneys huge descend continues i see as she number 95 so that will result in her falling out of the top 100 after 2 short weeks. Edited September 12, 20169 yr by pippa
September 12, 20169 yr LOVE seeing KT Tunstall top 5 in the albums! I doubt she'll stay that high but top 10 would be lovely after she missed out last time. Nice to see Kings Of Leon top 40 as well but they'll probably slide out by Friday.

September 12, 20169 yr Nick Cave sales are a surprise indeed, Meat Loafs album needs to be restocked in a few places, has done well I was expecting 45,000+ for bastille , might fall at around 35-36 000

I'm really disappointed at the lack of general public interest other than her obvious fanbase explosion in day 1. She is such a fantastic artist, her career trajectory has been quite unfortunate since being easily the biggest star in the world at the turn of the decade.

September 12, 20169 yr Decent start for Nick Cave but Bastille are not doing as well considering the first album was so huge - expected around 80k this week! Loadsa albums released already over 10k - welcome to the final quarter of the year folks!!

September 12, 20169 yr To be fair, Perfect Illusion does sound like the intro to a (slightly) new Gaga rather than the lead single proper. September 12, 20169 yr They performed on the Andrew Marr show this morning! I heard about that. Unfortunately I can't watch it until Thursday due to being in Berlin sans iPlayer. And yay to them looking like getting their first top 10 album in 20 years. It's richly deserved, and even more surprising to see them out charting Twin Atlantic at this stage.
