Surprised Ariana's "Santa Tell Me" isn't listed. After what happened earlier this year & the love the UK now has for Ariana, that could be a dark horse.

All a bit of a mess now with ACR and not knowing if the Christmas singles will be effected.

Well if the OCC are predicting big returns for Christmas tracks, it's unlikely that ACR is going to affect them no?

Not necessarily, the Christmas songs will chart well regardless of ACR or not so they are mentioning a group of songs that will be top 40 regardless.

This has always been the issue with ACR, its basically picking and choosing how the rule works, its not clear, consistent and unfairly penalises songs that are just very popular.

Ed Sheeran is releasing a new version of Perfect today featuring Beyoncé.

His odds have been slashed.

I still think Mariah could clinch it. Or if Anywhere FINALLY takes off on streaming in the next couple of weeks, Rita could?

It’s certainly an open race at this point...

Remember the xmas no1 will be from week beginning 15th December - 21st so the biggest streams won't be in the xmas chart it'll be the week after!

I have got money on Rita Ora but doesn’t look like that’s going to happen now. I wonder if it’s worth giving Mariah a try at 10/1

Looks like an interesting battle could erupt between Ed and Mariah/George Michael for Xmas no.1.

Last year If I remember rightly the no.1 song at Christmas was having 800k of streams? Given AIWFCIY is on 490k already I think it will easily surpass 1 million on a daily basis by the time if gets to Christmas. But If they are combining Perfect then that my well have similar streams, plus downloads.

Peak streams for Christmas songs always occur on Christmas Day itself so are always eligible for the chart published after Christmas. I'm not saying it won't happen but it is very unlikely, as many who put money on Mariah last year (*Cough* Mint Royale *Cough*) found out!

Aye that is true and if Mariah or George do get there it may well be the week afterwards.

Still, even though I'm really not keen on Perfect (think its one of his worst songs) its nice to see a big name actually making a bid for Xmas no.1 with a normal song. Will be interesting to see if this trend continues now the X Factor has lost its selling power in recent years.

I cashed out on Rita ( ) and got the same back as I'd put in, so that's good.

I've put £3 on Mariah, just in case her streaming continues to be crazy!

Little mix just killed all hope looks like they not even bothering to promote anything new
Does anyone else see the x factor winner not even going top 10?

Depends, Rak-Su would debut higher, I'm sure of that but can't see either being that massive. Maybe matching Matt Terry's #3 peak from last year then declining sharply thereafter.

If raksu they have shown they can go most the week top of iTunes it would depend on their streaming but they seem more of a streamable act than grace

Whether that momentum could last till Xmas week though

I dont buy the itunes argument. With sales being so low....a number 1 on itunes is not what is used to be.

I mean, Megan from TOWIE had a number one on itunes for a few days i believe and didn't even get a top 40 single.

Considering how big the current acts are on Spotify (Mariah is a prime example with over 500k streams a day)...i cant see them getting close to that.
